DARKMAN - A scientist on the verge of a major discovery in synthetic skin is burned beyond recognition, when an evil gang demolishes his laboratory. Altered by an experimental medical procedure, the man known as Darkman, assumes 'identities' to reap revenge on his assailants. DARKMAN 2 - THE RETURN OF DURANT - Dr Peyton Westlake, alias the crime-fighting master of disguise Darkman, is still trying to find a way of healing his deformed features. In a tragic turn of events he is forced to re-live the nightmare that first disfigured him. DARKMAN 3 - DIE DARKMAN DIE - This time out, Darkman battles against a sinister crime figure who is out to tap the secret of his superhuman strength. Its certainly action packed though, with plenty of bullets flying and explosions, although think “The A-Team” for the violent scenes and you have the quality of these. Of course, they aren’t really aided by an incredibly weak and frankly boring soundtrack from Randy Miller/Danny Elfman which is probably meant to be dark and brooding. Darkman III did hold my interest but only because I’m quite a fan of all these comic bok adaptations, but ultimately I was left wondering what the point of it all was, because it doesn’t seem to go anywhere or do anything to justify its existence. You think with a trilogy that there ought to be some advancement in plot from one movie to the next but here you learn nothing new about Westlake, his plight doesn’t change and if anything, it takes a step backwards. Advantages: None Disadvantages: It got made, there's a sequel on the way
...for such classic films as The Evil Dead trilogy, Darkman, The Gift, and A simple plan. Spiderman, is without doubt the worst film he has ever made and the sequel due out this summer can’t possibly be any worse.
You can buy a copy on DVD (If you’re silly enough to throw away your money) from most high street DVD and Video stores for around £20, Certificate 12 (probably because anyone younger than that would have more sense not to watch it)
Oh, and I do believe that this opinion is the only one star review of Spiderman, it just shows how easily pleased some people are. In truth, I never fancied this film from the start but when I finally sat down to watch it, I really expected to be pleasantly surprised, I wasn’t.
