Advantages: Beautiful story and Characters Disadvantages: Don`t be daft it`s by Roald Dahl
and your J.R.R. Tolkiens, Roald Dahl is the undisputed king of the writing world with Danny the Champion of the World (DTCOTW) amongst the best of his work. The book has so many elements to it that it needs repeated reading just to appreciate them all. On the surface DTCOTW is a tale of poaching pheasants and outsmarting a spoilt bloated land owner, but beneath the surface it is about the complete love between a father and his Son and the joys and troubles of raising a child as a single parent. Danny is bought up in a caravan poor in fringe comforts yet rich in love and happiness, his father always involving him in any tasks or adventures he can think up thus strengthening the unique father/ Son bond. At one point in the book Danny is caned by Captain Lancaster while at school, when his father finds out his anger is unquenchable, with a good ...
Advantages: Superb kids book Disadvantages: simple
I’m terrible, granted not the best introduction to a review, but it’s true. I have no will power whatsoever, my local Tesco has a charity table on the outward door with books on it. Books for me are what Donuts are for Homer Simpson, “hmmmm books”, so you can imagine what I’m like walking past a table full of dodgy old paperbacks going for a small charitable donation. The trouble is I never find the time to read them.
I try to be strong but when I saw Roald Dahl’s DannyChampion of the World I couldn’t help myself, I justified myself by thinking I’d write a review on it, so this is my justification. Danny was my favorite book as a kid; I think I bought it from the puffin club for about 15p. I managed to pack it in over a couple of days on the train; I did get a few strange looks ...
Advantages: Some great title matches, surprising outcomes, and big names Disadvantages: Some of the first matches were a bit slow and at times not entertaining
the lower card mathces, the final World Title matches have been set up in great fashion for the evening.
I enjoyed watching WWE Night Of Champions 2008, the 8th annual Vengeance event, but the second in its name. Perhaps so far it has been the best of all of them.
"Conclusion"
The quality of the DVD is very good as most that the WWE distribute are. It is a good one for the memorabilia if you are a WWE collector. This night does exactly what Vince wanted to happen, "to Shake things up again."
A 3.5 Star to 4 star event if I am comparing this to Wrestlemania's which is the standard to live up to. Some matches however do hit the 4.5 stars which is great to have in the smaller PPV events in the year.
N.B. Jeff Hardy defeated MVP in a dark match on the evening, shown before the event went on air to the television viewers. The match ...
