This now my fourth Dangermouse DVD in my collection! (vol. 1, vol. 2, vol.3) and now Viva Dangermouse make up the collection. I was amased to find this DVD on www.cdwow.co.uk when on www.amazon.co.uk it said it was not available until September 2003. However after another great delivery from CDWOW I was in possession of this great DVD.
Yet again it has 8 fantastic episodes that will keep you glued to the screen! As a young child this ... ...I watched it. Watching it again about 15 years on and the jokes just get better. This is one of those programmes that have a 2 tier age group for the jokes, let me explain. As a child you will pick up on the simple obvious jokes, but as an adult there are more subtle cleverer jokes! So don’t think that just because you are an adult you are too old to buy this DVD.

CHARACTERS
Dangermouse
Occupation – Hero Distinguishing features – Black eye patch, white jump suit Background – The greatest secret agent in the world, he’s had many a narrow squek. Has saved the country from disaster more times than he’s had hot dinners. Superb athlete, climbs the worlds highest mountain every morning to keep in trim.
Penfold
Occupation – Faithful assistant Distinguishing Features – Squat figure, pebble glasses, crumpled blue suit Background – Devoted to our hero, he will follow him up the worlds highest mountain. Code-named ‘Jigsaw’ because he always goes to pieces.
Baron Greenback –
Occupation – Megalomaniac Distinguishing Features – Formally Elegant, likes costume jewellery Background – Has wanted to take over the world ever since someone let down the tyres of his bike at school. With a mind as nasty as a super clue sandwich he uses the most up-to-date microchip technology, to achieve his aim.
Stiletto
Occupation – Henchman Distinguishing Features – Large beak, trench coat and trilby hat Background – Greenback’s right hand man. What ever Greenback wants, stiletto will have a stab at it. Despite his name, he’s far from sharp.
Nero-
Occupation – Creep Distinguishing Features – Looks like an over-excited powder puff Background – Greenback’s constant companion. He is a packet of evil seeds, constantly planting ideas in Greenback’s fertile imagination. Chatters to his master in gibberish which only Baron Greenback understands!
Colonel K –
Occupation – Head of secret Dept Distinguishing Features – Mutton chop whiskers, old school tie Background – Used to head special branch where he was known as ‘Special K’. With a reputation for fast action, gone to seed.
EPISODES
Viva Dangermouse – This is a prickly problem even for DM at the start! It takes the dynamic duo to Mexico or as they say ‘Mey-Hi-Co’ in search on non other than the Baron, must I must warn you that there is a lot of bull in this episode……
Gremlin Alert – This is one of the few episodes that the Baron does not appear nor responsible for the problem. This time a Gremlin who is very back to front is at the bottom of the problem. How will DM overcome this crazy Gremlin………
Tut Tut it’s not Pharoh – This time they end up in Egypt looking for the evil Baron Greenback. This time they are searching for the amulet of Eggonophis which is very mystical but can they get hold of it before the Baron? They are a ‘Paroah’ lot of jokes and puns in this ‘pointed’ adventure…..
Multiplication Fable – DM has his work cut out in this episode with ‘multiple’ problems. A Brummy outer space alien is just the start of his day (Pure comedy genius). Penfold also gets a furry surprise up his trouser leg…….
Lost, Found and spellbound – This time the top Professor Squakencluck is missing after developing a machine which means you can never get lost! In this tricky adventure to the jungle there are many mishaps on the way!
Mechanised Mayhem – All there is to say about this is that every item in the show is being very awkward………did Penfold go wild with the mail order catalogue or did they walk in by themselves??
Bandits, Beans and Ballyhoo – Yet another Mexican mayhem adventure as they have a new visitor. Which is not the Baron but a crazy Mexican with some jumping beans.
The Martian Misfit – The Baron is back yet again in this episode. He is trying to get his hands on the worlds largest diamond , ‘The Eye of Hercules’. As usual he wants to take over the world, but will he succeed this time…………….
