Palme-D'Or-winning movie-musical Dancer in the Darkgave her 18 months to produce this superb half-hour's result. It blurs all her staple sampling inventiveness (listen for a ball bouncing and shoes squeaking on gym flooring in "In The Musicals") with the sort of lush big band orchestral backing that made "Oh So Quiet" a hit. As in the film, each song builds from natural sounds that inspire Selma's fantasy world. "Cvalda" starts with machinery noise from her factory job, "Scatterheart" with the crackle of a stuck vinyl record, and "I've Seen It All" with a locomotive's engine rhythm (featuring a duet with Radiohead's Thom Yorke instead of on-screen would-be boyfriend Peter Stormare). "107 Steps" is cheekily just the Icelander singing numbers, and "My Favourite Things" isn't here from her delightful Sound of Music rehearsal. But those are minor niggles. Finishing in grand upbeat style with "New World", the music concludes with a nice link back to the motif from the brassy "Overture". It's taken the coherence of film scoring to deliver her most impressive work since Debut. --Paul Tonks

Advantages: 26 Fantastic simpsons episodes in one box set Disadvantages: packaging for the season 6 could have been done like the previous seasons
...A Must have for any simpsons fan
26 Of the best episodes from the simpsons creaters including some of my personal favourites such as bart of darkness Barts comet, Homer the great and two dozen and one greyhounds. In My opinion its the best of the season boxsets so far
this season 6 boxset of 4 DVD's at a cost of £25-40 is extremely good value i have sat for hours on end watching them and i still laugh. the packaging leaves a little bit to be desired it is a good original idea but its done in a very cheap way but that would just be me looking for faults saying all that i would definatly recommend the simpsons season 6 the packaging isn't very ergonomical but that shouldnt but u off hours superb entertainment...

Advantages: Good value for money, great show, worthwhile extras Disadvantages: Can't find any!
...No matter if you're an Elton John fan or not, this boxedset is fantastic viewing for all age groups. The TV version was shown earlier in the year to celebrate Elton's 60th birthday but was a mix of music & boring celebrity talk in between. This DVD focuses purely on the music & features the complete show live at Madison Square Garden in New York with a huge crowd including many famous names in the crowd such as Bill Clinton.
The concert not only celebrates Elton's 60th birthday but also his record breaking 60th appearance at this stadium. That in its self is breath taking, how many non-American artists could full this stadium 60 times over in the past 30+ years?
The boxedset comes with two DVDs & a CD (more about that later), it features 33 songs sung on stage with the band & backing vocals. Songs such as:
Sixty years on
Hercules...
