My son loves The Tellytubbies and often has a good old giggle at them as they sing and dance around the television screen. Which makes me laugh too as he tries to copy them dance now at the age of one!
I bought Dance with the Tellytubbies for Alex when he was a few months old, just to keep him amused while in his baby bouncer and then I could get on with a few jobs around the house and I can honestly say that this was a wise investment, I know what your thinking "a video an investment" well yeah ,its been great and as he has grown he hasn't gotten bored with this video at all, so it was a good value for money video.
I think he would be quite happy to have it on all day, which I obviously wouldn't do as I value my sanity. There’s lots of dancing around on this video and it certainly keeps kids happy and amused but also it keeps me fit as I’m usually dancing around the living room with my son. I think an hour a day for kids to watch a video is fine and it doesn’t do them any harm and won’t turn them into couch potatoes!
There are 5 characters in the tellytubbies video, these include Tinkywinky, Dipsy, Lala,Po and noo noo the hoovery type thing, Oh and there’s also a little boy’s face in the sun which my son finds very interesting when he comes on.
Tinkywinky carries his hand bag around with him nearly all the time which I find very amusing ! There’s a few dance sequences involving a skirt or kirt as the tubbies call it and tinkywinky definitely gets a few extra goes ,lol..
Here’s a list of the dances on the video
Stamping and stepping dance Walking dance Running away dance Round and around dance Splashing dance Falling down dance Tiptoe dance Jumping dance
So as you can see there’s lots on it and its running time is about 60 minutes so for £8.99 it’s not a bad price I feel. When the tellytubbies aren’t dancing around there’s lots of other entertainment ,that’s when there tummies light up and loads of children have a dance about and there’s also a little bit of educational fun in it to. Like Tinkywinky having to share his skirt for instance.
Anyway I would definitely recommend it for parents with children under 3 years old. I’m sure they’ll love it to. The only down side is it can get on your nerves a bit if you put it on daily so I recommend you have a variety of different video’s for your children to watch ,that way they won’t drive you up the wall.
Advantages: An hour to do the ironing and a happy child Disadvantages: Does not build language
...I write , its tunes dance about my walls amid giggles.
Well I like it, perhaps not for more than once a day (children don't seem to get this) but the educational style of the teletubbies is quite effective. Repetition is used to achieve retention of information. The people who created it are pure geniuses. Its simplicity is the key to its effectiveness. Dance with the teletubbies is all about music and dancing, with a liberal dose of children thrown ... ...or less. They run around, dance and talk in funny dialogue and periodically show us events going on in the wider world via their tv screen stomachs. Whilst I personally can't see what makes something with a purple suit and a hanger on its head appealing, we are thankful that children have not developed our sense of cynicism and still find these things wildly exciting!
I am not a huge fan of the dialogue if I am honest, because it is baby talk, which ...
