pre-schooler with energy to burn. This romper-room comedy shamelessly exploits its high concept idea--dropping Eddie Murphy into a seething den of rugrats--but kids will have plenty of vicarious fun as Murphy and his fellow laid-off colleague (Jeff Garlin) battle unemployment by opening a day-care centre in Eddie's home. In partialWitchesmode, Anjelica Huston hams it up as a day-care competitor bent on closing Eddie down, while doofus extraordinaire Steve Zahn is recruited as a third partner in "Daddy Day Care", trying his best to entertain a pack of hyperactive kids who've stopped taking their Ritalin. Zahn makes a funnyStar Trekfan (even when the script contains bogus Trekkie trivia), and Murphy deserves credit for giving his all in a comedy that mostly squanders his talent. --Jeff Shannon

What Nick doesn't know is that Suzanne's children think that no man is good enough for their mom and will do everything they can to make the trip a nightmare for him... This is my first film review so I will try and explain the film with out giving all the fantastic bits away! I realise that when you read a review and they tell you everything that happens then you end up thinking well sounds good but I know what happens now!! So therefore I will only talk about the overall story and some of the good bits so I don’t ruin it for you all!
I first bought the daddy day care DVD when my nephew saw a trailer for it, and being the sadistic little bugger that he is, he saw kids running riot and kicking adults therefore had to have it. Of course he had (coz I thought it looked cool too).
The film starts off with two family men (Eddie Murphy and Jeff Garlin) who work in the promotion and advertisement department. Which is very time consuming for them and therefore they don’t have as much to do with their children as they would like, and with the mother and the father working the children are forced to go the only decent child care place in the area! Which is very expensive! Anyway the two dad’s latest scheme is to promote a cereal that is made out of vegetables…cue the carrot and broccoli men!! As you may imagine the children reacted the same way that my niece and nephew did at the thought!! “Err gross”. So that whole little scheme backfired and as a result they go fired!!
Therefore they both tried looking for new jobs and as time when on they began to run out of savings as they were having no look in finding a job! After six weeks they are forced to take the children out of the Chapman academy where they were learning English, maths and foreign languages to become house husbands and full time dads!
They spend time looking for cheaper child care and come across some dodgy people, and while talking to other mothers about the lack of child care and the selectiveness of Chapman they decide to open there own child care centre..Hence the daddy day care. Obviously people are sceptic about handing their children over to two fellas so armed with flyers they go out touting for business….some funny moments as that is happening! (But then a laugh a bloke expensive is always good).
Anyway they manage to get the kids to come to the daddy day care! These kids have some winning personalities to name a few there is Tony better known as flash because he will only wear his superhero outfit! A young girl that despite being allergic to everything is very clever and can already read really well! Another boy Crispin that is always rude and likes to kick! And Rhian’s fav a boy that cries and cries when his mother is trying to leave and then gets paid to shut up! – Oh the guilt trips that kids can pull and they are sooo good at it!!
You then get to watch all the ways that Murphy and Garlin try and look after these kids……the trial and error period makes hilarious watching! As time goes on the kids begin to learn more, make friends and the lovely Crispin even begins to say thank you and please! All the time they are becoming more popular and have more kids join their group therefore becoming even bigger competition to the stuck up Chapman academy. They end up having too many children that they are told they have to hire some one else... (Who is fantastic with the kids though only agreed coz he fancied one of the mothers). They are then told that they need a bigger place if they want to have that many kids!
But obviously in order to get a bigger place they need money so they decide to have a fun day to raise some cash! Cue the hilarious sabotage by the Chapman girls. (This is funny to watch and therefore one of those bits were im not going to spoil it). With the disaster of this combined with the offer of their jobs back leaves the dads back at work and the children back at the snooty Chapman academy learning about the psychology of goldilocks!
Now the question is do the dads stay at work or do they go back to the daddy day care jobs????? Watch and find out!
This is a great family film that had me and my niece and nephews laughing till we were bad!
Ross loved the ending of the DVD when they show all the bloopers – oh he loves it when things go wrong!
Special features of the DVD are the early bloomers – which are all about tadpoles turning in to frogs – the kids were impressed with this little cartoon! NOT
Featurettes – these include good morning Eddie Murphy, meet the kids of daddy day care, quiet on the set and what did that kid say?!?
Games – these are kid card match up; name that noise maker and odd one out.
There is also the theatrical trailer!
For the back of the box stuff! It is rated as PG States that the language (some, mild) there was none that I can really think of and there was nothing that the kids picked up on! They are the type of kids that will hear something then repeat it again and again! Sex and nudity (infrequent, mild) but apart from seeing them kiss they wasn’t Violence (some, mild and comic) this is true the kids kicking the adults and the carrot and broccoli fight!!
This film was made by Motion pictures 2003, by revolution It runs for approx 88 mins, though it didn’t seem like it! Ross is the type of lad that can not sit still for more than five mins and he manages to sit and watch this every time!
Anyway this film gets thumbs up from me! The kids thought it was cool and sooo funny! So we recommend it as a great family film!!

The Plot.
Charlie Hinton has great plans for the future, starting with sending his son Ben to the states top Day Care facility now that he has his well paid job, and his wife Kim is returning to work as a lawyer, but as we all know even our best laid plans with great intentions don't always work out as we want them to.

Mirroring Nar words of wisdom...
Hello and welcome to the review that should have been here. It was here but its not here now as I have taken it and put it into my private stash somewhere else. It may well appear somewhere else online and if it does it will have my name on it. Thank you to everyone, to all the people in my COT over the years who have stuck by me and who have been great influences over the reviews I have written. It is indeed a sad ... ...a review on which makes no sense at all when the original content should be listed and frankly because of endless problems with Ciao I no longer have the time and energy to carry on. Each time I tried, it didn't work. Each message I sent to other members, they didn't appear. Each rate I applied, it didn't show. So that's the end of it. Ty for reading. One last thing...enjoy yourself and dont make the internet your life...go out and have fun! ...

Advantages: An amusing afternoon Disadvantages: Not the best murphy film ever
...own, telling clearly that his daddy has no clue how to deal with children, is worth a visit to the cinema. The film brings a good laugh for everyone in the cinema – adult or still a child. Of course you can’t expect anything highly demanding. It’s just a film for the complete family, just for relaxing and having fun.
A few words about the actors: I wasn’t too impressed with Anjelica Huston as the noble kindergarten owner. The role was obviously ... ...just like it when it still appears a bit more realistic. Eddy Murphy and Jeff Garlin did a good job. Their have been better films with more laughs Eddy played, but given the relatively “old and normal” topic, it was very good presented.
Technical data: no minimum age, length about 90 minutes. Main actors: Eddie Murphy, Jeff Garlin, Steve Zahn, Regina King, Anjelica Huston ...

Advantages: Good clean family fun that appeals to both children and adults Disadvantages: A few dragged out scenes
Anyone, who has kids or experience of them, will be rolling in the aisles at this film. I believe it to be the best family film, I have ever watched and being a mother of a young son, believe me I have watched quite a few in my time. The film is based around a very real issue that of finding reliable, safe and affordable childcare, which any parent these days will tell you is an ordeal. STORYLINE

The only options being that of the Chapman Academy the most expensive and academic nursery in town, a nursery based on a caravan site run by an overweight chain smoking mother or a nursery based on a farm where they keep the children in the cellar. They come to the idea that the only option is to set up and run their own day-care centre. They market themselves as “warm ...

DVD Description
Advertising executive Charlie Hinton (Eddie Murphy) leads an idyllic suburban life with his wife, Kim (Regina King), and adorable 4-year-old son, Ben (Khamani Griffin). But when Charlie and his buddy, Phil (Jeff Garlin) are let go from their jobs and can no longer afford to send their offspring to ritzy Chapman Academy Preschool, they decide to start their own day care centre out of Charlie's house. Things get off to a rocky start, but pick up when word gets out about the affordable rates they offer. Their sci-fi geek pal Marvin (Steve Zahn) jumps on board to help entertain the tots. But competitive Chapman headmistress Miss Harridan (Anjelica Huston) and a by-the-books child services inspector (Jonathan Katz) make sure that Charlie and Phil encounter plenty of hurdles. Continuing the family-friendly winning streak that Murphy began with the NUTTY PROFESSOR and DR. DOOLITTLE films, DADDY DAY CARE is yet another light comedy for children and parents alike. Quaintly peppered with potty and breast jokes--but with no offensive language--the film allows Murphy's appealing soft side to show once again, and his interaction with his young costars is never less than winning. A handful of fellow Saturday Night Live alumni show up to help (Kevin Nealon, Laura Kightlinger, Siobhan Fallon), and the always-strong Steve Zahn delivers several of the film's best moments.
