Advantages: Touching and Emotional Disadvantages: None!
...I watched this movie last night, and WOW was I impressed. I knew the basic story of Joy Division and Ian Curtis, but this movie shows eveyrthing. It is gritty and realistic and really gives a feel for what life was like for these people in late 70's Macclesfield! It is based on the biography written by Ian Curtis's wife Deborah and shows the life of her husband Ian Curtis and his band Joy Division from their very beginnings, when Curtis was about 17, through the band findning acclaim and success, right to Curtis's sudden suicide in 1980, aged just 23. It shows how a short career in the post-punk music scene can make such a difference, and how Ian Curtis is an icon for how music progressed, even today!...

Advantages: Sharp, funny and informative Disadvantages: Made me crave fast food
...” and “super-heavy users”. Spurlock obviously revels in reeling off America’s fat-statistics, doing so to the accompaniment of CurtisMayfield’s “Pusher Man” while Ronald McDonald cavorts around in McDonaldland, like a sinister pied piper luring children to death by clogged arteries and heart-attacks.

The only people who don’t have any time for the director is McDonald’s, who avoid him like the plague, refusing (in the most polite way possible) to grant him access to key spokespeople throughout...

Advantages: Very funny Disadvantages: Has Jamie Lee Curtis in it
...One of John Cleeses best films of his career (excluding anything Monty Python related of course!). Kevin Kline also pushed the boat out on this one with an amazing performance of a crazy fool! I'm not normally a fan of Jamie Lee Curtis and find her acting awkward at times, this film was no exception. That said, the film is still very entertaining and roll around laughing at times. The story is about two thieves (Jamie Lee Curtis and Kevin Kline) who attempt to get to some valuables and get involved with just about anyone to get to them. Curtis ends up getting involved with John Cleese and has to play the role of a lover, much to the dismay of Kline. Throughout the film John Cleese gets his marriage turned upside down and ends up falling for Jamie Lee Curtis and he comically has no idea what her real intentions are. Very well written...
