Casual Caribbean Cruising

Advantages: Excellent food, huge cabins, fabulous entertainment
Disadvantages: Expensive shore excursions, annoying ships photographer

We have just returned from a 2 week cruise of the Caribbean with Ocean Village. It was fabulous. Anyone younger than 50 who thinks cruises are all old age pensioners having a 6 course dinner at the captain's table can think again - the company's logo is "Cruises for People who Don't do Cruises" and this is certainly true. I've detailed below all the facilities etc that are on board the ship but outline briefly here our experience. We flew from Manchester with Thomas Cook and they were great. You check your bags in at the desk and you don't see them again until they arrive at your cabin later that evening. When you get off the plane in Barbados a coach arrives and takes you from the tarmac direct to Bridgetown Port meaning you don't have to queue up at customs in the airport. On arrival at Bridgetown Port one you have signed ...

Pirates of the Caribbean - At World's End DVD

Advantages: Action and adventure, great scenes, Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp
Disadvantages: A bit long

Pirates of the Caribbean at World end is the third movie in the Pirates trilogy. It follows the crew of the Black Pearl (the Pirate ship) rescuing Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones' locker and then preparing to fight the East Indian Trading Company who are intent on extinguishing piracy. I'm not going to spoil the rest of the plot/movie for you as I believe you should see it for yourself so I will just now review the rest of the DVD and what I thought of the film/films. At the box office it was actually the most successful film of 2007 and is the second most successful film in the series. I think even if action and adventure films aren't for you (they aren't my most favourite) this would still be a film you like as it is very funny in places, the sets are brilliant and the action really is very well choreographed. My one complaint with it ...

Review of Pirates Of The Caribbean - At World's End (DVD)

Swashbuckling, good fun.....Pirates of the Caribbean (DVD)

Advantages: Great fun all the family can enjoy
Disadvantages: It ends too soon

Pirates of the Caribbean - The Curse of the Black Pearl Captain Jack Sparrow?s pirate life is thrown into turmoil after his former first mate, Captain Barbossa mutinied and commandeered his ship, the infamous Black Pearl. Barbossa left Jack on a deserted island thinking that would be the last he saw him, but unfortunately for Barbossa (but not for us) Jack managed to escape. We catch up with Captain Jack several years later sailing into Port Royal (I say sailing , but the boat he has commandeered is sinking and he?s more bobbing along than sailing really). Once he's docked in Port Royal his mission is to find a replacement ship and fast. His plan however is sidetracked when whilst trying to charm two of the Governor?s men to let him board their ship he sees a lady fall from the cliff top. The lady in question turns out to ...
