After I left the cinema after watching Cruel Intentions last year, I was left with the thought, "Was that great drama, or just a bit boring?" A year on, and that thought still remains. It's not an eye-candy movie; whilst not being a mind bender either. The acting leaves nothing to complain about. The scenery is varied, and the soundtrack brilliant, but it's a movie you forget about quickly. There's just something in the storyline, that's hard to put your finger on, which just doesn't give it that spark. Sure, the plot and humour are sharp and has a nice twist or two, but it's all a bit drawn out. A slow, sunday-afternoon type of film. I suppose that's where Cruel Intentions excels. It's a perfect time consumer. It's not a must-see. You won't go away feeling "wow," but you will feel as if your time was well spent.
