Plot:
(I'll give this a go, still don't quite understand it!)

A swordsman searching for elightiment returns to a friend, he has his sword stolen by a rich kid who has been taught secrets of kung fu but her nanny who happens to be a convict. The nanny convinces her to rob the swordsman of his sword... umm thats about it.

the nanny dies the sword returns to the master and the rich kid realises she shouldn't have learnt those secrets kills herself, the end. Wow that was an amazing storyline wasn't it? more like something monty phython would come up with!

Review:
People will hate me for writing this but I don't really care, I hated the movie. How can it be labelled as a great martial arts film when the "martial artists" hang from wires! its insulting to people that take it seriousily. I've trained in martial arts for 7 years and I can't fly!!!

Yes the backdrops and the scenery is amazing... but come on its not about chinas great country side. Its labelled a martial arts film so i shall review it so!

Ong bak is a martial arts movie

this movie has destroyed the kung fu cinema taken it back to the 60s where kung fu cinema involved flying through the air.

Thank god for tong jaa, just like we said when bruce lee came out.

I hate this movie.

Sorry but your review made me laugh, although it's short you hit the nail right on the head.

Too short a review, even if you hate the film. As an ex-Karate-ka I understand and share your annoyance re wirework, but this was more a fantasy film then a martial arts one. Would have been nice to cover some positive points, such as Michelle Yeoh's fantastic performance. Not only has she had no formal martial arts training, she's one of very few women Jackie Chan allows to do her own stunts in his movies.
