Yesterday was the day when I finally got hold on this film (Crouching Tiger hidden Dragon). Comfy sofa, dim lights and friends opinion that I am about to watch something outstanding. No, not really! Well, let me be more specific. PLOT...Fantasy? Yes. not outstanding fantasy though. A quest to retrieve a stollen sword plus a lot of fight scenes. Aren`t all those films look and sound similar? They are. By the time this film warmed up I got bored - seen this many times, do not want to see it again. SPECIAL EFFECTS. They are fantastic! YesSS! But again....Supposedly we are not watching a fairy tale. To my personal opinion the special effects in the "realistic" movies should be on the border between just possible and impossible. these special effects are clearly on "impossible" side. No gravity, no harm to the heroes and lots of fancy moves. Something like "long, long time ago in the galaxy far far away" springs to my mind. An entertainment for kids perhaps? Perhaps...not much of acting involved though. Is there anything i like about this movie? Yes! The final. seriously. It is worth to watch two hours of martial arts special effects to get to the final. Unusually powerful, tender and romantic. I liked it. I loved it!!! This is my personal opinion. i may be wrong. Everybody chooses for himself.
