This explosive, on the edge of the seat, nail biting two - part season finale was directed and also written by Tarantino. It starred the usual cast members plus some special guest appearances.
It starts off with Nick (George Eads) and Warwick (Gary Dourdan) tossing a coin to see who gets which case! Warwick wins and gets the strip-bar call and Nick ends up getting the trash crime scene. It only needs one CSI.
Apart from the officer who called in Nick is the first to arrive on the scene. He starts collecting evidence and the officer starts to feel quasy, he turns his back and Nick dissapears.
It's personal now, and night shift leaders Grissom (William Peterson), Catherine (Marg Helgenberger) team up with dayshift leader Conrad Ecklie (Marc Vann). Grissom, Catherine and Warwick meet at the scene where Nick dissapeared and they soon discover that the way the evidence was set out it was a deliberate trap. Warwick soon feels the strain as he realised it could have been him.
With nothing much to go on the processs the carefully planted evidence and discover it is the remains of a dogs organs. Sara (Jorja Fox, Greg (Eric Szmanda) and warwick look at all other possible leads to gather information.
The kidnapper makes his move and requests a ransom of a million dollars. The CSI's recieve a USB Flash drive and that directs them to a web link which has a live camera feed. They discover that Nick has been buried alive in a glass coffin. He only has 12 hours of air left, a tape recorder, glow sticks ana a loaded gun! He's scared and alone and the CSI's are left feeling helpless.
The kidnapper has left a message on the tape recorder which Nick and the CSI's both hear and the panic starts to set in. The CSI's have no control other then the light switch for the coffin. What they dont realise is that while they are keeping the light on it is cutting off the air supply to the coffin. Nick shoots at the light and destroys it, buying himself some much needed time. But unfortunately he is in more risk as the glass has cracked and there is now no barrier between him and the army of hungry fire ants.
Catherine informs Nicks parents (guest stars Andrew Prine & Lois Chiles) they try to gather some money for the ransom but dont have anything close to the $1 million price tag on their sons life. The department cant help because of its no bargaining policy. Catherine goes to visit her club owner father Sam Braun (Scott Wilson) for money.
There are lots of twists and turns throughout this season finale which you will have to see for yourself.
It has amazing stunts and special effects, would you expect less from Tarantino?
If you are a die hard CSI fan then I expect you have already seen this season finale but for those that haven't its a mst see!

DVD Description
A smash hit from the moment of its 2000 debut, 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' has continued to remain one of the most popular, innovative, and critically acclaimed crime dramas in television history. Created by Anthony Zuiker and executive produced by movie maven Jerry Bruckheimer, the thrilling series centres on the Las Vegas Police Department's night-shift forensics unit, which utilises cutting-edge technology to solve the often grisly crimes of a city whose constant influx of visitors makes it rife with criminal elements. Heavy on science, creative camerawork, and uncomfortably graphic depictions of violence, CSI is revered by fans and critics alike for its well-drawn characters, superb ensemble cast, detail-rich writing, and gripping story-lines often inspired by real-life cases. This special two-part feature presents the CSI's fifth season finale directed and written by Quentin Tarantino. One of the CSI team is kidnapped and buried alive and the team needs to rescue him before it is too late!
