Advantages: An amazing film which you can't ignore Disadvantages: You have to stop and think!
...Crash is an unbelievable film with so many different plots which all intertwine to make a controversial and questionable outcomes. The film covers areas of racism, pride, trust and beliefs. All your original thoughts are twisted around and around forcing your head into complete and utter confusion as to who you should believe! Any prejudices you have are tested and your perception of other is really tested too. Its a very emotional film you get into trying to justify who you should believe. I hadn't really heard much about it when I went to the uni cinema but I could not forget it afterwards. Thoughts kept going through my head for days! Without realising until after, both my boyfriend and I had ended up sobbing a tear or two....

Advantages: None Disadvantages: The entire film -what a disappointment
...Dear oh dear oh dear.
You hear the plot - crashing cars for kicks, and sexual pleasure.
You picture teens driving flashy cars. You picture wild and controversial sex scenes. You expect a high adrenaline, fast pumping flick a cross between Shopping and Kids
But NO.
What do we get... Some strange old, very unsexual characters, recreating crashes of the past. Its boring, dull and extremely unexciting.
Why was this film banned I hear you ask. To protect the British public from such poor quality films! Oh, and because there is one somewhat distasteful shot!
Please do not waste your time with this film. It aint what you hoped for. Its a wast of your time and your money.
Basically, avoid this film!...

...I'm actually glad I saw this movie now. To see the absolute worst movie of all time at such a young age is a God send. Now when I go see movies, even if they look terrible, I can always say "It can't be as bad as CRASH. Let me summarise the plot (what have I said?) for you. All the characters work on what we called in algebra the FOIL system. Just make sure every number in an equation has multiplied with all the other numbers and you have your answer.
Cronenburg I am dissapointed, and Holly Hunter and James Spader should be ashamed they stared in this. Affection for cars, maybe it does happen but this is just sickening.
The real title of this movie should have been "NEW THINGS TO DO WITH INTERESTINGLY SHAPED LEG WOUNDS" Ewwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!!!!!...

Actor(s): Don Cheadle, Tony Danza, Thandie Newton, Brendan Fraser, Terrence Howard, Ludacris, Larenz Tate, Michael Pena, Sandra Bullock
Director(s): Paul Haggis
Genre: Drama
Classification: 15 years and over
Plot: A stellar cast collides haphazardly in this insightfully written tale of racism, rage, and redemption which takes place over the course of one day in Los Angeles and involves a circus of cops, robbers, and civilians. A detective (Don Cheadle) with a heroin addict mother and criminal brother investigates the shooting of a black cop by a white cop. Two hoodlums (Larenz Tate and Ludacris) jack the car of the District Attorney (Brendon Fraser) and his angry, racist wife (Sandra Bullock). Terrence Howard and Thandie Newton play an upper-class African American couple harassed by a racist cop (Matt Dillon). The chaos continues, with other roles played by Tony Danza, Michael Pena, and Jennifer Esposito. A propulsive Mark Isham score keeps the disparate narrative threads electrified from the get-go; when they finally connect, the results are explosive and beautiful. Everything is tied together with tight editing and artistic shots of car headlights cutting through dense morning smog. Writer-director Paul Haggis' (writer of MILLION DOLLAR BABY) Los Angeles is a world of alienated people struggling to connect across vast barriers of language, class, and culture; that they manage to do so is testament to their depth as characters more than some trite message of brotherly love. There are no easy answers, but this film is tough, intelligent, and gutsy enough to find some anyway; and for that it deservedly won an Oscar for Best Picture in 2006. This version of CRASH features an extended directors cut main feature.

Review: A haunting, perceptive and uncompromising examination of controversial subject matter, expertly written and directed by Paul Haggis (Empire, 08/09/2006)
Advantages: Its a cult film. Disadvantages: There is no storyline at all
...Crash, supposedly one of the most talked about films! It was banned almost as soon as it was launched! I managed to get a copy of the uncensored version and was eager to get home and watch it.
It started slow and despite the presence of James Spader, who I normally rate in films, it was a load of rubbish.
The story revolves around James Spader who has a car crash and nearly dies. Since the crash he has developed a strange fascination with having sex with maimed or deformed women as a result of crashes. He gets involved with a cult/society of people into this macabre way of life and that is basically what the film is about.
So, unless you get turned on by watching society's misfits shagging their way around various crash sites, I would advise you give this film a miss....

Advantages: ryan phillipe Disadvantages: awful sexist men!!
...crash is a very good drama.
It follows many different stories that all at some point in the movie intersect.
this can be very confusing.
the main storyline of this plot is about racism, stereotyping and families.
there are many different ethnic groups involved in the film.
the film stars people such as ryan phillipe which is always a bonus =]
the basic plot is based aroun a car crash that we see at the beginning.
the film is an anti-narrative and it therefore it flashes back to an earlier scene before the car crash.
there is a huge use of racism in this film and alot of patriarchal values where men are more powerful than women.
i would definatly recommend this film to anyone who loves a good drama.
It is also created by the man who wrote things such as million dolar baby and is a huge improvement
