Crank is an incredibly funny and intense film, with lots of exciting action. The film is about a guy named, Chev Chelios, (Jason Statham) he wakes up from a poison injection, giving to him by this Japanese gangster (Jose Pablo Cantillo) who he tells him he hasn't got long to live, one hour to be precise. Chev Chelios has to been on the move all the time, otherwise his pulse rate will slow down, and his heart will stop, causing him to die. Chev was running around all through the film, trying to keep the circulation in his blood going. He tried physical violence, snorting cocaine, drinking lots and lots of energy drinks, took medical drugs, and even shagging his girl in China Town, all so he could keep his pulse pumping. Chev wanted pay back on the Japanese gangster who did this to him. In the process Chev kept losing his bearings, and his vision was just becoming a blur. Jason Statham has made some incredibly great films, but I've never seen one his, as funny as this one. Most recent films I'd seen him starring in were, In the name of the King, and transporter one and two. The Transporters were his best, and Transporter three I heard is coming out soon as well. Crank though, was just like them films, but he didn't have a stylish black suit, and Jason didn't have control of his own body. Jason's girl was played by Amy Smart, who's also starred in films such as, Road Trip; a filthy comedy, I thought was hilarious. When I knew Amy Smart was going be in this one, I thought it should have quite a bit of humour in it, and she sure doesn't disappoint!

It was that kind of film, that would make you say "that was F****** Hilarious!" Believe me; I did say that the first time I saw it. Taking a poison dart, which can slow your pulse rate down, must certainly feel like your dying a very slow and painful death. It was just the constant running around the streets in a hospital gown, nicking everything in sight, which really made me laugh. I really enjoyed the hospital scene, I won't say too much about it, for those who haven't seen it. But, I will say, god help; the patients when Chelios is on the wards. I don't think anyone else could have played a better part like this, then Statham. I have got to admit, it made me feel like jumping out of my chair, sprinting down the road and doing the exact same thing, just for the fun of it. I could just imagine pulling off some these stunts that Statham did, everyone will think you've gone nuts!

The Japanese mafia are very unpredictable; they and the Chinese actors are more of the far fetch type, when it comes to fighting, even though there weren't much fighting going on in this film, but I do find their moves entertaining. Whilst, Jason had to track down the leader of the Japanese mafia, he had so many obstacles to overcome, and a few people to deal with on the way. When I said he had no control over his body, he was struggling to gain that control, this resulting to him taking things to the extreme. There are other scenes I could pick out, which were incredibly funny those being, where Chelios stood there with a crowd of people, watching himself on screen, with nothing but a hospital gown on, that guy was certainly giving him a strange look, you'll find out why? The love he made in Chinatown was certainly the funniest scene in this film; Statham gets warm applause for this. I've enjoyed the film, and I hope anyone with a taste for humour does too; it's definitley one I would watch again, and would certainly recommend this title to anyone who loves action, suspense and comedy. I've heard they're making a follow up to this, if they are or already have, I'm just wondering if it's going to be anything like this one. I reckon this first Crank title was one of Jason Statham's finest roles!
