...of all their worst fears Tim's parents discover a secret that their son has kept from them. Worse still, Tim's english teacher, Mr Cassidy seems to know more than he is telling. What is his problem? And why his futile attempts at suicide? In a community ruled by fear and police presence, tempers flare. The police cease to think rationally and make some bad decisions - after all, they are human too. Fitz's relationship with his wife is suffering beyond belief and still he cracks the case. Advantages: The three original adventures for our plastercine friends
Disadvantages: Limited edition tin is a rip-off

...It would be hard to find anyone who hasn't seen any of the Wallace and Gromit films, at least in Britain anyway. Wallace, inventor and handyman, loves cheese and crackers, Wenslydale, a favourite. Eccentric and highly exciteable. Gromit, faithful pooch, voice of common sense, often has to resolve some of his owners mishaps. Also loves cheese and crackers. Wallace and Gromit : Three Cracking Adventures, is a box set of the first three films from Nick Park, and his team, using plastercine and stop-frame animation. Below is a short run-down of the films: A Grand Day Out, the first adventure see's Wallace and Gromit head off to the moon, (because everyone knows the moon is made of cheese), in a rocket built by Wallace. Advantages: Thriller in the same vein as Match Point
Disadvantages: Terrible accents, rushed ending

I really enjoyed the movie, Allen dragged out the cream of British crop when it comes to actors and actresses John Benfield (Prime Suspect) and Claire Higgins (The Golden Compass) star as the brothers loving and hard working parents. Quadrophenia star Phil Davis (soon to be seen as Lucius in Doctor Who - The Fires Of Pompei) plays an acquaintance of Uncle Howard who gets more than he bargained for in the dodgy deal. And TV classic Jim Carter (Cracker, Between The Lines, Silent Witness) has a brief appearance as Terry's less than impressed boss. And if you recognise the voice of Phil Davis' lady visitor its none other than Hotel Babylon and Eastenders actress Tamsin Outhwaite who for some reason you see from the rear but never head on. The movie as a whole is pretty consistent, but I was most disappointed... Read review
