I bought this DVD a good few years ago when I saw it in a shop after seeing Just Married which stars Brittany Murphey...who is the star of this film too, and loving her acting. So I snapped it up despite never hearing of it before!!!
It turned out to be a great buy as Uptown Girls is an amazing film which I love!!!!!!!!!!
The film is about a young woman, in her early 20's, Molly Gunn played by Brittany Murphey. Molly is the daughter of dead rocker parents who died when Molly was very young in a plane crash. Ever since Molly has lived off her inheritance, never working or giving a care in the world. Her bills are paid from a bank account whcih is in the hands of banker, Bob...and the rest of her money is kept in her freezer...what could go wrong eh!?

Honestly, there was nothing on tv one Sunday afternoon and I found the film on Film 4 so I gave it try. I was a bit behind the times because the film was first released in 2004.
I proud to say I now own it on DVD and can watch it whenever I want to!

Plot
Rusty Parker (Rita Hayworth) longs to leave behind her job as a Brooklyn dancer and be a Broadway star. Things begin to look up for her when she enters a Cover Girl contest she reminds the wealthy publisher of a lost love, and lands on the cover. As fate would have it, she is the granddaughter of the woman who broke the publisher's heart.
