Ambrose, Philip's guardian since the loss of both parents at an early age, travels abroad to Italy for the sake of his health where he meets, falls in love with and marries "my cousin Rachel". Months later, Philip receives a disturbing letter from Ambrose concerning the state of his health, which also hints at Rachel's involvement in his illness. On travelling to Italy to investigate, Philip finds Ambrose dead, and Rachael has departed.
Philip returns to England to take up residence in the estate which he has now inherited from Ambrose. Shortly thereafter Rachel invites herself to come and stay with Philip in the house which she would have shared with Ambrose had he lived. Advantages: hilarious, Tomei and Pesci Disadvantages: extraneous plot twist
Just looking at Marisa Tomei and Joe Pesci in 'My Cousin Vinny' (1992) makes me laugh. And when they speak, I laugh harder. This film is definitely one of the funniest produced in the past fifteen years.
Stan and Billy, on a road trip in Alabama, are stopped by the police after buying groceries at a roadside shop. The paranoid recent university graduates speculate that people are executed for minor infractions in that area. Alabama is notorious for its use of capital punishment. One of the blokes (Ralph Macchio) has forgotten to pay for a can of tuna fish and thinks that they are being arrested for that.
When they are brought to jail, it turns out that they have been arrested for a much more serious crime--murder!
