Copland is a fantastic film, I watched it when I rented it from my local library and I was absolutly hooked. It is the American version of Infernal Affairs, not only because police corruption is the fundamental aspect of the films but also in the spell-binding perforamcne given by an all-star cast, to excellent effect. The film see Sylvester Stallone, in a far cry from his (stereo)typical roles as an all out action hero, instead plays a deaf, overweight, ... ...called Garrison, which is also known locally as Copland, as so many cops from New York live there. He is effectively manipulated and used by a group of corrupt New York cops, including Ray Liotta and Harvey Keitel. A rather interesting aspect of this film is the agonising dilemma Stallone finds himself in, torn betwen to his loyalty to his friends, who in true corrupt cop style always seem to have a ready answer for everything and always manage to ...
