Coolrunnings is based on a real life story of a jamaican bobslegh team but only it has been twisted and given an element of comedy into this film.
The film starts with three men running a final qualification race form the 100 metres sprint in the olympics and one of them trips up and knocks the others over. There is then the idea that they should start up a bobsleigh team. And so they approach a man who has retired from the sport and who who got caught cheating in the past by putting weights on the sled. Minutes later after long arguement they mange to convince him to give them a chance. They go to the qulaifications and qualify.
