CONTROL, Staring Ray Loitta And Willem Dafoe Directed by Johnathan Baker.
Certificate 15, Available Now to Rent
THE STORY Lee Ray Oliver is a Killer, sentenced to death for the brutal murder of a drug gang (with Mob connections) and shooting of 1 innocent member of the public who was "in the wrong place at the wrong time". He escapes execution by agreeing to test a mind-controlling drug that will supress his need to kill. Taken sectretly by a large drug development company to a test facility, Lee Ray undergoes supposed changes, mentally and in the way he looks.
As the tests move into 'phase 2' Lee Ray is re-introduced to society and goes in search of work.
Side effects trigger flashbacks of his past and abuse as a child and Oliver soon returns to his life of crime and his deadly compulsion as he is pursued by the mob and the drug Company, who are desperatly trying to cover up what they have done.
THE ACTORS: Ray Liotta-Lee Ray OLIVER im sure they included 'ray' in his characters name so that he knew it was him when the director said "Action". A poor performance to say the least.
Willem Dafoe-Dr Copeland- In contrast to Liotta, a very strong performance, but noticably over compensating for the rest of the cast.
Michelle Rodriguez- New Girlfriend of Lee Ray's, Not much to say here, just flutters her eyelids every now and again, very much a 'bit' part
OVERALL This film seems to struggle, possibly due to budget, but the story was one that interested me reading the back of the box in the dvd store. Would have been a good film, if maybe, Ray Liotta was replaced by a bigger star or well known bad guy actor. Ok for a rainy day when theres nothing on the TV, but I think that this will be on the TV sooner than we think.

don;t think this is my kinda thing at all! you have the right ideas about what stuff you should be reviewing in the film, but you need more detail definitely. check out some other film reviews to give you more of an idea of what you need to add. p x
