Confidential Films Of World War 2 DVD

Advantages: Interesting, informative and previously unknown information revealed
Disadvantages: Too bias, edited selectively to show Bush's many downfalls

.... Moore has clearly researched his topic well. He is unstoppable in his attempts to show Bush's puppet strings unfortunately he does not reveal who really pulls them. The film is bound to be bias but I found it a little over the top with NO room for compromise or retaliation. The film was originally not intended for the UK but as US propoganda for the forthcoming elections. The film provides powerful insight into the true nature of the most powerful man in the world, well worth watching. I wait with baited breath for the release of this film as a DVD. Unfortunately I missed the progra about the suicide bombers of the 9/11 attack.... Read review

...L.A. Confidential has an impressive cast and certainly I found it to be an enjoyable crime thriller with a good storyline and some excellent performances. Set in 1940's Los Angeles and focusing on Hollywood it is a story about a number of police officers in the force charged with quelling a viscious gang war following the jailing of the head of the mafia in Los Angeles. It is a dark film with a lot of violence and some strong performances. Guy Pearce and Russell Crowe play officers with very different appproaches, Pearce is the careerist trying to follow in Daddies foot steps who believes honesty and integrity are paramount and as such following a violent attacke he gives evidence against fellow officers in order to advance his career. Advantages: Mocks the modern art world, funny and unpredictable
Disadvantages: Some characters are a little hollow and unexciting.

...At first I picked Art School Confidential up in the ex rentals bin at a dvd store and thought it looked like a cheap and low-budget contemporary art flick but after noticing John Malkovich was in it I thought I might as well try it and how glad I am that I did. The film is a mish-mash of dark humour and drama. The film mocks the modern and contemporary art world and is deceiving in that you originally think that the portrayal of this "art school" is intentional until you pick up on certain lines and certain things which happen in the film. I found the film was great fun and it was far funnier than I thought it would be. I can't understand why it's so unknown and under-rated. I think that anyone who finds this whole "modern art" scene which is currently plaguing the world as rubbish would find this film great fun as I know I did.... Read review
