to be more than a little weird both try out for the main role in the new school drama production? In Dylan Sheldon's story, you get fireworks, that's what! Mary Elizabeth Cep, Lola to everyone who matters, believes she was born under a spotlight and the world is just taking its seats to welcome her onto the centre stage of life. When she is dragged away from her life in New York to New Jersey by her mother, her new school just doesn't seem to understand what she is about. Her best friend Ella is a kindred spirit, both girls sharing the same outlook in life and both idolising rock band Sidhartha, but Ella's parents disapprove of Lola's upbringing and the free reign Lola's mother gives her. When she challenges the school's most popular girl Carla for the lead role in the school play, it becomes very clear very quickly that there is room for only one drama queen--which one will win the day?Sheldon's tale is bright and breezy and she has created a great character in the sassy and outspoken Lola, a girl who is by no means vain but truly believes she was destined for greatness in some form or another. The scheming and ambitious Carla is a perfect foil for Lola, reminding her and the reader that no matter how badly you want something, there is usually someone out there who wants it more. The story moves quickly and is perfectly paced, though younger and less confident readers may have their patience tested by its length. But the first person narrative doesn't mean it is too hard going and allows Sheldon to get right under the skin of Lola, a funny and thoroughly likeable young girl who most people will recognise and warm too very quickly. While it may not be laugh--out--loud hilarious, there is plenty on offer here to help you wind away a rainy afternoon. --Jonathan Weir

This films ok , but not the best movie Lindsay Lohan has made!

Advantages: Fun show for kiddies Disadvantages: Extremely predictable
...for a royal disappointment with Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen. I watched it with some young cousins of mine. While the movie is a delight for the tweens, it was a dramatic bore for the older teens (you can imagine the comments! - "Hello??!! Like a girl from NYC needs help to get popular in the suburbs!" or "Please...she's not a drama queen, she's just a nutcase!")
Over-dramatic 15-year-old Lola (Lindsay Lohan - Parent Trap, Freaky Friday) ... ...home, New York City, as the greatest place in the world to achieve her dream. But her world comes crashing down when her single mother packs the family up and moves to the New Jersey suburb of Dellwood.
In her new school, Lola quickly becomes friends with Ella and Sam. But like every teen movie, you need competition, and she comes as Carla Santini. Carla is the most popular girl in Dellwood High - beautiful, rich and extremely snooty. Daggers begin ...

Advantages: great storyline, great acting, family film for all ages Disadvantages: none
This movie was made in 2004 and stars Lindsay Lohan as the main character. Lindsay Lohan is becoming quite the star and is starring in quite a few teen movies such as ; 'Mean Girls,' in which she plays the main teen in the movie. This movie is really aimed at teens but I just loved it. Lindsay plays Mary Elizabeth but when she moves to a new town she decides to tell the teachers and staff she is called 'Lola.'
Lola constantly fights for attention ... ...mother. She constantly over reacts to just about everything going on in her life at that given moment. As soon as she moves to the new school/town Lola tells everyone her father is dead. She constantly tells very large half truths making them sound romantic and exciting.
The most popular girl in the school hates her from the moment they meet and she tries her hardest to make Lola look stupid. Her best friend Ella is just interested in the real Lola ...

Advantages: Another chick flick for fans! Disadvantages: Lindseys character is not always likable
This film although still a chick flick is a slightly different role to what Lindsay Lohan normally plays. In this film she plays Lola a girl moving from NYC city to the quieter suburbs. She dreams of acting and is very over dramatic in this film. She has a strange taste in clothes and on her first day wears something that can only be described as a belly dancing outfit lol! She makes friends with this girl and gets the lead in the school play. When ... ...one last concert in New York they vow to go. They can’t get tickets so aim to go there and buy tickets from touts. Howver things don't go to plan and theyleave the money on the train. They eventually end up at the after-gig party with the band.
When they get back to school the popular girl denies seeing them there and everyone thinks they are making it up however at the after show party the guy turns up returning Lola’s necklace and everyone finds ...

DVD Description
Moving to the suburbs proves tougher than Lola (Lindsay Lohan) expected in this delightful teen comedy from director Sara Sugarman. Suddenly catapulted into the mall-dwelling teenage wilderness of New Jersey, New York City girl Lola feels like her life has come to an abrupt halt. Longing for a return to the bright lights of the metropolis, her only salvation from the monotony of suburban life is the music of her favorite rock band, Sidarthur. Fortunately for Lola, she meets Ella (Alison Pill), a fellow Sidarthur fan, who provides a modicum of intelligent life amongst the scornful cliques running rampant throughout her high school. However, Lola's big-city attitude puts her in a heap of trouble, especially when she crosses paths with the most popular girl in school, Carla (Megan Fox). Keen to usurp Carla from her high-and-mighty position, Lola sets out to take the much-desired lead in the school play, a position her archrival desperately covets. But when Sidarthur announces it is breaking up and playing a sold-out farewell show in New York City, a ticketless Lola makes it her mission to travel back to her own personal Mecca, see the performance, and meet her number one crush, singer Stu Wolff (Adam Garcia). With Carla hot on her heels, and in possession of a ticket for the concert, the frantic and frequently funny story arc builds nicely towards its conclusion in this bubbly coming-of-age tale.
