selected original 35mm film from Conan the Barbarian. The collection has a black mount with black frame, an individually numbered plaque and certificate of authenticity.
lighter, more humorous tone and one of the campiest casts ever assembled. InConan the Destroyer, our massively muscular hero (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is assigned by a duplicitous queen (Sarah Douglas) to escort a virgin princess (Olivia d'Abo) on a treacherous trek to a crystal palace where they will retrieve a priceless gemstone. Basketball champ and self-described Lothario Wilt Chamberlain plays Bombaata, a warrior sent on a secret mission to kill Conan, and the androgynous Grace Jones plays Zula, a wild woman who becomes Conan's loyal ally. Some consider this sequel a disappointment but the film makes no apologies for its silliness, and that's the key to its success as gloriously pulpy entertainment. --Jeff Shannon

Before there was The Terminator; before there was the Kindergarten Cop and before there was Danny DeVito's twin brother, there was this bad, yet not as bad as most action sequels, sequel to Conan The Barbarian. Non-sensical plot, over-the-top acting and dialogue my cat could predict make this inferior to the original and hardly a DVD worthy of 'collector's edition' status. (Who are these anonymous 'collectors' anyway?) But Arnold does do what he does best and growls and flexes his way through a script which he probably did not need to read. The first one at least had James Earl Jones in it ("I am your father, Conan"), but if you are a Schwarzenegger fan, or like cheesy action sequels, you will most likely enjoy this. It also comes with a booklet and other bits of paper, which surely will sell on eBay for at least two quid in ten years time.
Bad yet good, in a bad sort of way.
Two musclebound stars out of five for this DVD.

My favourite of the Conan series, this has a different actor playing Conans sidekick, this sidekick is much more of the coward and adds a rather interesting amount of humour to the film. Featuring Grace jones with her stick fighting which is worth a watch. This film features wizardry and sorcery, thievery great sword fighting and a fantastic beast for Conan to face off against at the finale of the film. From the monster who`s power was in mirrors to betrayal amongst Conans Companions. An impressive performance from Arnie as usual. But a must for all fantasy film buffs and action film buffs.
Brill film.

Advantages: None Disadvantages: Rubbish film. Rubbish DVD
This film, in the words of Dickinson, looks as cheap as chips. The effects are really bad and cheesy, the acting is dreadful and the story is ridiculous.
I would not recommend this film to anyone, it just isn't worth the money.
It took me about a week on and off to watch, because I kept getting so bored. The only reason I finished it is because I always finish watching a film when I start, to give it a fair chance. Lots of films are sluggish at ... ...The start is actually better than the end (but still dismal).
The DVD itself is also poor, the menus are clunky and not user-friendly and the extra features are even more boring than the film (if that's possible).
I really don't think that anyone would enjoy this, I can't believe it got made in the first place, let alone released on to DVD! ...

Advantages: arnie, good mvie Disadvantages: dialogu
...when watching either of the Conan movies, or Kull for that matter, is that they are not Howard's evocative characters. They are completely different, and only keep the name to sell the movie.
That said, Conan the Destroyer has nowhere near the impact or power of Conan the Barbarian. While that film opted for a dark, serious tone, this movie has a light, comedic feel to it, probably so it would sell to children. While the humor is pretty good at ... ...events.
While the previous Conan film showed off Conan's graceful violence and taste for women, in this one most of the swordplay is choppy and not very well done, and he doesn't bed one wench. The special effects are terrible, because I guess the director was trying for cool effects and thrills and failed miserably.
Grace Jones is a colorful new addition as the savage Zula, but Wilt Chamberlain acts quite badly as Queen's Henchman Bombatta. I'm ...

DVD Description
Following CONAN THE BARBARIAN, Arnold Schwarzenegger returns as Robert E. Howard's warrior hero in action director Richard Fleischer's CONAN THE DESTROYER. First seen praying at a shrine, Conan and his sidekick, Malak (Tracey Walter), are inveigled by Queen Taramis (Sarah Douglas) into joining Princess Jehnna (Olivia d'Abo) and her bodyguard, Bombaata (Wilt Chamberlain), on a quest to wrest a magic key from the wizard Toth-Amon (Pat Roach). On the journey, Conan saves his magician friend, Akiro (Mako), from cannibals and helps female bandit Zula (Grace Jones) as she fights off some angry villagers. The motley crew find Toth-Amon's castle in the middle of a lake. But, while they rest for the night before confronting the wizard, he spirits away Princess Jehnna. Conan leads the rescue. Compared to the first Conan movie, CONAN THE DESTROYER has less violence but more humour. The film's stunt casting includes the 7-foot-tall basketball player Wilt Chamberlain and pneumatic singer Grace Jones. Other actors featured are the 17-year-old Olivia d'Abo (in her first screen appearance), playing the petulant teenage princess with sexy innocence; Tracey Walter as the cowardly jewel-swallowing thief, Malak the Quick; and, of course, Schwarzenegger, who put on 10 extra pounds at Fleischer's request, as the pectorally-perfect Conan.
