No prizes for guessing the level that "Conan the Barbarian" works on. Arnold stars as a bloke with big muscles and a sword who gets into fights with people. There's a smattering of magic and a revenge plot and that's about it, really. Whether you'll like the film depends on whether the above description entices. Arnold fans will need to watch it to see what he was doing before he became a real star. (It's kind of fun but nowhere near his worst film, an award which goes to a best-forgotten western called "Cactus Jack".) I wouldn't really recommend the film to anyone who isn't interested in its star - it's watchable but by no means a masterpiece. I suppose many people would disagree but I wouldn't honestly recommend it.
