Great value for money!!!! Who could have realised what this programme would become back in 1981! Originally only planned for one series and about to be scrapped when strikies and cutbacks at the bbc forced programme schedulers to repeat the first series, which is when the country fell in love with Del boy (David Jason), Rodney (Nicholas Lyndhurst) and Grandad (Lennard Pierce). The advantages of having the complete box set are huge, because somehow you always seem to remember incidents and episodes which you just have to see, and with the box set you can. Includes every episode including the christmas specials. As you follow the brothers journey from rags to riches, you also notice the friendship, scenarios and characters which all seem so real, maybe due to the fact that they were all based on people that creator John Sullivan knew and saw in real life. Watch as death of the actor who plays Grandad, Lennard Pierce, passes away in real life, is superbly written into the script and you see the highly emotional funeral, which can make you cry one second and be bellowing with laughter the next, Also the episode in which the brothers find their uncle Albert and take him in to become a possibly even more famous character than grandad. All in all a briiliant box set, which i challenge to be beaten, hours and hours of side splitting laughter in britains all time favourite programme.
