DVD Description
This instructional programme features chords, scales, and a variety of playing styles, including blues, jazz, rock, and country.
Advantages: Good for beginners with a little experience Disadvantages: Not for complete beginners
...This is a good DVD for anyone who wants to get started on the electricguitar, and begin to play things a bit more complicated to impress friends and family.
Keith Wyatt is obviously a very accomplished and skilled guitar player, and he knows what he's talking about. He presents new skills clearly and teaches what he knows well.
The only flaw in this DVD is that it may be too hard for complete beginners of the guitar. Where a couple of the lessons it has should be devoted to how to hold the guitar, tuning, how to strum properly and basic chords, it races through these basic skills quite quickly.
However, once you have mastered these key skills, the instructional guide moves along at a good pace, and covers lots of things, such as minor pentatonic scales, major pentatonic scales, dominant chords, power chords, and how to play in...

Advantages: Extremely versatile and gorgeous too! Disadvantages: People with tiny hands need not apply.
...I've owned an Epiphone Dot for over a year now, so I know it intimately. Well, as intimately as a man can get with a guitar anyway! I guess I'll start with the basics for anyone who's just starting out.
The Dot is a semi hollow electricguitar, This means thats it has a solid block of wood running lengthways through the body, but has hollow chambers on either side. This means it is more audible than a standard solid electricguitar unplugged, but plugged in has the added bonus it is less prone to unwanted feedback than fully hollows. It has 2 humbucker pickups, a 3 way selector switch which lets you use youre different pickups at different time, and 2 independant tone and volume controls. Humbuckers give a more earthy, full sound than single coil pick ups, and are perfect fodder for some overdrive, yet are equally at home with clean...
