DVD Description
Long Lost Comedy Classics is a collection of films from a golden age of British Cinema, remembered for timeless stars and some unique movies that have stood the test of time. So why not take a trip down memory lane and see how cinema used to be? Includes: MISS ROBIN HOOD - A newspaper columnist conspires with an elderly fan to steal a secret whiskey formula from a wealthy distiller. However, it's not long before Scotland Yard is on the case!
YOU'RE ONLY YOUNG TWICE - A young girl Ada Shore, arrives at Skerryvore University in Scotland in search of her long lost uncle who was once a subversive Irish poet but is now working under another name as the University Gate Keeper... BRANDY FOR THE PARSON - A young couple on a yachting holiday become involved with Tony Rackham who is smuggling brandy from France. Through various mishaps, they find themselves personally responsible for transporting the brandy kegs to London, whilst being pursued by Customs officials… TIME GENTLEMEN PLEASE - The PM is planning a celebration visit to the model village of Little Hayhoe. However, local lay-about Dan Dance refuses to work, so he’s shipped off to the local almshouse where he awaits an uncertain, yet very funny future.
Advantages: Incredibly Funny, classic Friends Disadvantages: Leaves on a cliffhanger, I don't believe the ending suited the group but thats a personal opinion!
..., with the storyline taking twists and turns to help set up the final series. However, I would recommend buying the whole box set of the series to get the full collection of episodes but as an aside, this collection is an excellent blend of light entertainment and classiccomedy.

Advantages: An excellent rip-roaring conclusion to an excellent first part, Tarantino at his best.Pure genius in celluloid. Disadvantages: A shame there is not a 3rd part to this movie.
...When Tarantino released Kill Bill Vol 1, it was met with wide acclaim, some positive some not so positive, claiming he had just made a bloodfest and was into shocking people, true the original movie was graphic in parts but I believe it paved the way for Vol2.
In Vol 1. we see that the charcter played by Uma Thurman has been wronged (to put it mildly) and is merely exacting her perceived revenge for the loss of her child and nearly her life but we know little of the depths of the charcaters.
In Vol2. we get more in depth information relating to the characters in the movie, and we get the cataclysmic ending that just the movie justice.
Vol 1 was the jammy sponge for the film and Vol2 is most definitely the icing and decorations.
In both movies we have excellent acting, scripting and direction (as we have come to expect from...

Advantages: great picture quality Disadvantages: short running time
...I'm not keen on these 'best of' DVDs because, especially with Dads army, they are all classics. You also end up owning some episodes twice when you get the whole series. Although the show is now dated, the laughs are still there and it is clean and innocent comedy for the whole family.
There are no extra's, no commentaries or cast interviews and nothing cut or removed, just like you remember it on the television.
I always think that a lot more can be sqeezed on the dvd's, this is no exception, I think you could expect more minutes of laughter for your money.
Navigatiopn on this is fool proof, not confusing menus to tackle, nothing you would need the kids to decipher.
This is excellent sunday afternoon viewing....
