I'll Have What She's Having

Advantages: Very funny, endearing, relatable, fantastic script
Disadvantages: None

When Harry (Billy Crystal) met Sally (Meg Ryan) in his early 20s the pair didn’t immediately hit it off, they drove from Chicago to New York together and on the way they discussed the fundamental differences between men and women. Sally has a very old fashioned view to love and relationships, opting to believe that men and women can be good friends without sex getting in the way however Harry has a more realistic approach and knows that even if a ...
...ever JUST be friends? When asked what your favourite romantic comedy of all time is it’s very likely that out of 10 answers, When Harry Met Sally is likely to crop up at least a couple of times and there’s a very good reason for that. Nottinghill - A proper Rom Com.

Advantages: A Great Rom Com. Easy viewing for all the family.
Disadvantages: The plot is simple and predictable but who cares!

...bookshop, in Londons trendy Notting Hill. During a normal boring mundane and almost customer free day in walks Hollywood movie star Anna Scott (Julia Roberts). It then becomes as expected a traditional romantic comedy, boy meets girl, boy likes girl, boy and girl get to know each other. Complications interfere with the romance and so the story begins. It easy viewing and if taken with a pinch of salt and a glass or two of wine its enjoyable. The ...

Death By Shampoo.

Advantages: A Story about Real Love
Disadvantages: Turns the comedy parts to cheese!

I actually went to see this when it was on at the cinema. I remember afterwards thinking it was amazing. I think because back then Freddie Prinze Jnr wasn't just an actor - he was the poster on my wall! Al is a Sophmore, his main passion is food, he wants to follow in his fathers footsteps and become a chef. He meets Imogen, a freshman who is a very talented artist. The two seem perfect for eachother. They fall in love, we go on a journey through ...

Things start to move a little too quickly when a pregnancy scare grabs the two back from their romantic dream into reality. Fearing that the relationship is moving far to fast, as they are still young, the two begin to clash. Imogen sleeps with another guy and the relationship comes to an end. A year later they paths cross again, their still seems to be sparks ...

Bittersweet and Lovely

Advantages: beautifully pitched bittersweet excellence
Disadvantages: none... except possibly uma's character

...depending on expectation fulfilment. Sweet and Lowdown didn't let me down. A charming, deft bittersweet comedy mockumentary-dramatisation, the film begins with Allen explaining the choice of Emmet Ray ("the second best jazz guitarist in the world after Django Reinhardt") as the focus of his dramatisation. A handful of jazz historians, DJs and biographers complement him in introducing and then sustaining the story of Emmet Ray, a blustering, neurotic ...
...he meets a mute laundry girl… Sean Penn does at least one wonderful thing in his portrayal of the fictional wannabe jazz maestro; he doesn't play Woody playing Emmet. Many a time Allen chooses, for whatever reason, to withdraw from taking on the main role but the actor who replaces him can't resist a certain amount of Allenesque twitching. Although Penn's performance results in a wonderfully bizarre man, at times a caricature of the image he's trying ...

Maybe...or maybe not?

Advantages: thoughtful story, good cast
Disadvantages: a bit wooden, doesnt flow quite smothly

First of all I will start by saying that me and my partner have been trying for a baby for over a year now with no success, so the subject matter of this film was a concern as well as a draw...I didnt want to end up being offended by what was being said or done, but sometimes it just feels good to see portrayed on screen the things that are happening in life. I will also point out that I have not read Ben Eltons book, inconceivable, but might give ...
...The main thing about this movie was the fact that, despite being a comedy, it is in no way taking the mick out of conception or infertility etc, there were obvious jokes about sperm and the likes but nothing offensive. This really appealled to me from a personal point of view and made the film more endearing. I believe that these are the conversations that couples trying for a baby will have (and when you're ovulating, believe me it doesnt matter ...
