Review of Annie Hall DVD by
arthurpringle
Advantages: A funny and enjoyable experience
Disadvantages: Erm...you might not like Woody Allen
Annie Hall was the 'breakout' film for Woody Allen as a director. The film won four Academy awards including best picture/director and saw Allen move away from the freewheeling comedy films he was best known for at the time. Annie Hall is essentially about the relationship between Alvy Singer (Allen), a typically neurotic Allen character, in this case a comedian, and aspiring singer Annie Hall, played by Diane keaton in an Oscar winning performance. ... ...between Alvy and Annie's family. Annie Hall begins with Allen speaking straight to the camera as Alvy. The scene is an immediate indication that Allen has moved on and is seeking to make a different type of picture with more ambition. Alvy's very Woody Allen concerns give us an insight into his character and make an arresting beginning; "There's an old joke - um... two elderly women are at a Catskill mountain resort, and one of 'em says, "Boy, the ...

Tarantino's Finest
Review of Pulp Fiction (Collector's Edition) by
mrbeefington
Advantages: A Superb Cast/ A superb story
Disadvantages: A little out dated
...lives up to the hype and the opening 'Big Mac' exchanges are sure to remembered for years to come.
It is rare that a film can combine Humour/Romance/Action and Pop Culture but it is this blend that suggests Pulp Fiction will remain as influential as they day it was released. ...

A true classic!
Review of Pulp Fiction DVD by
mozzie76
Advantages: Fantastic plot and characters
Disadvantages: none
Pulp Fiction is superb film by indie director, Quentin Tarantino. The film is three connected stories following the lives of a selection of less than wholesome characters.
There is a great cast featuring John Travolta, Samuel Jackson, Uma Thurman and Bruce Willis. They al perform at the top of their game, especially Travolta who is in a comeback role and really shines. Actors like Christopher Walken and Tim Roth are in supporting roles and make ... ...their boss and Willis is a boxer who double crosses the mob boss.
I think Pulp Fiction is a true classic that has a great story and acting performances. You will not be disappointed by this film and really must have a copy of it in your DVD collection! ...

A Classic
Review of Pulp Fiction DVD by
joe-survey
Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: ????
...it
I first watched pulp fiction around a year ago. At the time i was a slight bit intoxicated after a drink so i forgot all about it. When my Gran got me a copy i put it on the side and just forgot about it. Then around a month ago i decided to watch it. Since then I've watched it around 45 times and as it's a video the tape has worn thin and you can't see a thing. I know have the two disk special edition which is worth buying.
What sort of ... ...spend this time better watching pulp fiction" In fact that would be the only bad thing about this review. I am an extremely sad person now who is obsessed with fictional people. The characters, the stories, the acting, the jokes, the wrongness of the movie, all of these are factors that make it one of the best films I have ever seen. In fact, it is the best. Everything about it just fits in. I think that the soundtrack is also very smart. The songs ...

Girls Like Me Don't Make Invitations Like This
Review of Pulp Fiction DVD by
RazzaLazza
Advantages: A fantastic Tarantino film, never a dull moment.
Disadvantages: Blink and you may just lose the plot.
Having long been a fan of Director Quentin Tarantino, it should come as no surprise that 'Pulp Fiction' is one of my favourite films of all time. 'Pulp Fiction' was the 1994 follow up to 'Reservoir Dogs', a film I first saw at a young age and fell in love with instantaneously. Much like the way in which the films of Tim Burton tend to have a magical feel about them, Tarantino has a similarly distinctive directorial style, one of which I myself am ... ...brought John Travolta success in the 90's and was just a general all round cracker of a film. I get excited about the films of few directors, however every time a new Tarantino film is released I am amongst the first to get down to the cinema and view it. 'Pulp Fiction' is a film which I can view time and time again without ever tiring of, one that I can never get enough of and always enjoy watching. If it weren't a Tarantino film then I feel that ...
