All I want for Christmas
Review of All I Want For Christmas DVD by Tinkerbella1

Advantages: Its Christmas and puts you in the mood (although its March!)
Disadvantages: Predictable

...Santa for her parents to get back together. Her brother Ethan plans to ruin their mothers wedding plans with all sorts of tricks, this part is rather funny. I watched it on a friends video but its currently on sale as a DVD for £12.99 at HMV. ... Read review

Amazing
Review of Naked Gun Trilogy (Digipack) by fanwahvoom

Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: I wish there was more of them

Three films based around the Police Squad TV Series, If you have seen Airplane! or Airplane 2 then this is basically the same type of humour. Its what you would expect with a Leslie Neilson movie. Leslie Neilson plays the main character (Lt. Frank Drebin) an Unproffessional yet dedicated cop (The whole station is the same). The film is hillairious from start to finish with "stupid" humour pranks and stunts, If this film doesnt have you laughing ... Read review

Underated comedy masterpiece
Review of The Naked Gun 2 1/2 The Smell Of Fear (Wide Screen) by dtait07

Advantages: as strong (if not stronger) than the first film
Disadvantages: some gags a bit too predictable

Naked Gun 2 ½ - The Smell of Fear Review Background One of my early memories as a child was the huge poster in the local video shop window of The Naked Gun with a picture of a rather old looking, grey haired James Bond-esque character on the front. I more vividly remember my mum taking the extreme micky out of the fact that I pronounced it the "knackered" gun. Little did I know that my Dad would later drill the trilogy of the films ...
...knows from the same writers (Zucker, Abrahams and Zucker), 'Airplane'. Naked Gun derived from the short lived TV series Police Squad, which became more cult than successful in the United States. Its main character, Frank Drebin, (Leslie Neilson) is a cop with a knack of getting to the bad guys but not really with any conviction of meaning to. In the first film he stops a plot to kill the Queen whilst falling in love with the villain's assistant ... Read review

Joey, have you ever seen a grown man naked?
Review of Airplane! (Wide Screen) by midpikyrozziy

Advantages: Hilarious, witty, laugh-out-loud humor
Disadvantages: You'll be annoying everyone by telling them how good this is

Airplane! has surely got to be considered as one of the all time greats of satirical comedy today. Spoofing disaster movies, Airplane! will manages to have 95% of any audience in hysterics throughout the film. Brought to you by the same guys who directed Leslie Nielsen's similarly hilarious series Police Squad, Jim Abrahams, and David Zucker, this film uses all sorts of jokes - crude, intelligent, slapstick - to extract as many laughs as possible. ...
...adds to the spoofing value. Airplane! was made in 1980, and in the 1970s there were many disaster movies made, and Airplane! takes full advantage of the comic potential just waiting to be turned into a film. Leslie Nielsen steals the performance as Dr. Rumack, who similarly to Nielsen's character in Naked Gun and Police Squad, Frank Drebin, plays a confident, assured character on the outside, is really a bit of an idiot on the outside. The film's ... Read review

It's no 'Airplane!', that's for sure
Review of Repossessed (Wide Screen) by moo-cow

Advantages: Takes the urine out of a cult film. Hurrah!
Disadvantages: Er, takes the urine out of a cult film. Shame.

Starring comedic genius Leslie Nielsen and directed by Bob Logan (no, I've never heard of him either), this spoof of controversial horror movie, 'The Exorcist', will come as something of a disappointment to you if you're hoping for the laughs you get with 'Airplane!'. But there are a few good moments (enough to see you through to the end, anyway). It's not quite as laugh-out-loud as some of Nielsen's other work, and even bringing Linda Blair - the ...
...mock herself and her greatest on-screen moment wasn't enough to make this a classic. But it's enjoyable enough with some typical gags. In this slightly cheap parody, Satan possesses Nancy (Linda Blair) via her TV set whilst she's watching some religious fruitcakes doing their thing in typical noisy, over-the-top fashion. Nielsen is Father Jebidiah Mayii, the only priest who can rescue her and her bamboozled family from the devilish torment. As you ... Read review
