The plot of Jumpin' Jack Flash is what pulls this one through - many twists and turns. I think many people who do quite dull jobs in banking or IT are inspired by the fact that a person in quite a lowly position with a huge corporation can be dragged into the world of action and adventure, intelligence and spying. Whoopi Goldberg is really funny as our reluctant herione - the scene where she is trying to decipher the lyrics of the song 'Jumpin' Jack ...
...is a highlight of the movie, and a strong stand-alone comedy moment. I also liked the fact that the romantic element, though certainly containing tension, was quite realistic. It would have been so easy to add a schmaltzy ending, but they resisted - this really adds to the tone of the movie. Great fun! ... Read review

Whitney Houston is of course the preachers wife who is fast growing tired of the ways in which she lives. Her mother is reminding her constantly to listen to her husband. Then along comes a man, an angel, to fix and heal the family rifts and problems in his life. This angel says that the preacher himself prayed for him so the angel decided to pay him a visit. ...were nice touches like the big Josh trying to get the small Josh's clothes on (he ended up stealing his Dad's) and the reaction of Josh's Mum when she finds the big Josh in the house. It was a "nice" film, some scenes are really funny, some rather poignant. It's not a classic like the ever popular Forrest Gump, (a firm favourite in our house) but a pleasant way to pass a couple of hours. No one would buy this DVD for the extras. All they give you ...
