Chick Flick? Yeah but not a bad one.
Review of Bridget Jones's Diary DVD by briangilmour

Advantages: It's funny and very well written.
Disadvantages: Most guys may boke at the thought of watching it.

Ok, as a guy I realise this film is a total chick-flick however, as chick-flicks go, it isn't that bad at all. Based on a novel written by Helen Fielding, it tells the story of a woman in her 30's who has been branded permanently single as she tries to figure out what love is all about. Who hasn't been there?! From a complicated and confusing romance with her boss to all the womanizers and compulsive commitment freaks she meets, this is a humorous ...
...has the role of the unlucky in love Bridgette and she is co-starred by Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. I thought she took to the role very well especially adopted her normal southern American accent to a very good proper English one. Also notable is that Richard Curtis was part of the writing team so you can rely on a few good witty lines of dialogue that hark back to his days of writing Blackadder. For a guy to sit and watch it, it can be slightly cringe ... Read review

Bridget Jones's Diary
Review of Bridget Jones's Diary (Wide Screen) (Slip Case) by Lisab3410

Advantages: Brilliant comedy, excellent actors, laugh out loud
Disadvantages: I am jealous of Bridget having a choice of dishy men!

...by far the best. Bridget Jones is a single 30 year old woman who has had not much luck in love. The film starts of with Bridget waking up on new years day and deciding to make a diary. In this diary she details things like lose weight, find a nice sensible boyfriend etc etc. This will be familiar for many women and i'm sure many of us can relate to her. The problem with bridget though is she likes to do all of the things which are no good for her, ...
...say that at the end Bridget achieves some of what she set out to in her diary and discovers that sensible boys can also be quite appealing. This is a laugh out loud film, it truly is. Yes it is a chick flick, but if you are male and have never seen this then give it a go. I haven't met a guy yet who didn't enjoy it! ... Read review

Bean and gone!
Review of Mr Bean's Holiday DVD by beanie8844

Advantages: mildly funny at times
Disadvantages: quite irritating and repetitive humour

...had seen some of the Mr Bean sketches as a youngster and at the time rather enjoyed them; as a consequence I was expecting the film to be at the very least entertaining, how wrong I could have been. The film opens with Mr Bean (Rowan Atkinson) winning the first prize in a raffle, which entitles him to a holiday to Cannes on the French Riviera. His journey to Cannes is nothing short of utter chaos and confusion. Firstly, he manages to somehow get ...
...acting because the character of Mr Bean seems to have reached its limit. Kids may enjoy this film, but this is the only real reason for purchasing the DVD. Released: 30th March 2007 (film), 20th August 2007 (DVD) Certificate: PG Cast: Rowan Atkinson (Mr Bean), Emma de Cannes (Sabine), Willem Dafoe (Carson Clay), Karel Roden (Emil Dachevsky), Max Baldry (Stepan Dachevsky), Preston Nyman (boy with train), Director: Steve Bendelack Producers: Peter ...
