Do you like it up the Khyber?
Review of Carry On Up The Khyber (Special Edition) by
ian4552
Advantages: One of the best loved of the carry on films
Disadvantages: Some of the saucy seaside humour seems dated
...favourite films of all time. Carry on up the Khyber is one of the best loved of the "Historical" Carry ons. It is also a film that will have me laughing no matter how bad a day ive had.
Beleve it or not this film also includes the only time, in a carry on film, that any filming was done outside of pinewood studios. The Khyber Pass. No they didnt go to India. That was actually shot in Snowdonia. ------------
The Plot
------------
India,1895 and ... ...Rogers, The Producer of the Carry on Films and Carry on Historian, Robert Ross. Talk about the making of the film and dispells some of the myths that have grown up about the film. Interesting, but Peters very slow speech I found somewhat annoying Stills Gallery:
A selection of still that were taken whilst filming. Again not a lot i can say about this.
Carry on Laughing. The Sobbing Cavalier:
A half hour programme from the Carry on Laughing series. ...

Carry On To Ellsbells
Review of Carry On Abroad (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by
IanPhillips
Advantages: Is one of the best Carry On's
Disadvantages: None as such
Carry On Abroad truly encapsulates the feel-good spirit that made the films such an enduring success. Nearly all of the teams favourite regulars are here as well as some extra additions to the cast line-up. The usual batch of players that are present and clearly on good form are Sid James, Joan Sims, Kenneth Williams, Peter Butterworth, Charles Hawtrey, Babara Windsor, Hattie Jaques, Kenneth Connor and Bernard Bresslaw and are joined by Scottish ... ...the best endings in a Carry On film, firmly holding onto that fine, feel-good spirit which would slowly dissolve from here on. The cast are all on usual form, though Peter Butterworth and Hattie Jaques are perharps the best players here. They make an almost Laurel and Hardy kind of duo and Jaques in particular is an unusual role, playing a Spanish, downtrodden and seemingly demented cook. The rest of the cast certainly get their moments including ...

Carry on watching this great set.
Review of The Ultimate Carry On Collection (Box Set) by
jennyb79
Advantages: all the films
Disadvantages: more expensive than buying sepeartely.
If you want to own the whole carry on collection then this is a great product as it has every film inside it, however as other reviewers have said it is possible to get all of the dvds cheaper if you buy them seperately. A little more work, but worth it as I've seen a lot of these films on sale elsewhere for about £5 a time, some even less.
The films themselves are classic British comedy with great innuendos everywhere, and many double entendres. ... ...or hate them, but for the carry on fans, me included, most of these films are hilarious and a great way of spending a rainy Sunday afternoon. There are of course the less great films (Carry on up the Khyber, Behind and Jack were my least favcourites) but there are many many more classic good films (camping, abroad, screaming, loving and Cabbie are porbably my favourites.) so if you wnat to make your own mind up about which of these films you like ...

More Carry On Madness
Review of Carry On Loving (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by
IanPhillips
Advantages: The great Sid James and Hattie Jaques
Disadvantages: No Barbara Windsor
Carry On Loving exploded onto British cinemas in 1970 and scored one of its biggest success stories in the series. Though variable in quality, Carry On Loving hit contemporary times perfectly in this mildly risque offering and was entering into the more liberal times which was something director, Gerald Thomas and producer, Peter Rogers intended to loosley draw upon. Carry On Loving is now, perharps one of the more dated entries in the series but ... ...factor that had made the Carry On's such a winner in the first place. You know that there are better things out there than this but yet theres something about the cozy little world of the Carry Ons that remains refreshingly amusing and often provides perfect escapism. Carry On Loving is slightly similar in its content to an earlier addition in the series, Carry On Regardless (1959) with a series of sketches, loosley connected to the same initial ...

Cruising into Colour - and still funny!!
Review of Carry On Cruising DVD by
Littleswamp1
Advantages: Carry on in Colour, finally!!
Disadvantages: Similar to the first five
...first major watershed in the Carry on series. Last one written by Norman Hudis, the introduction of some new, familiar faces, and the brand spanking effects of colour!
First Impression
------------------------
The ultimate low budget film series shelling out on a cruise? Don't bet on it! The producers do credit P&O with their help in the film, but the fact most of the on board deck scenes are around the same area (Swimming pool and walkways around) ... ...What ensues is memorable Carry On physical comedy!
Memories
--------------
All those outlined above plus the scene in the bar where Dilys Laye and Liz Fraser join the regular drunk (Ronnie Stevens) and the barman and try most of the drinks in a matter of minutes!!
Also Kenneth Conner singing a ballad where his mind wanders(!) and he ends up serenading... well, I don't want to spoil it!
Conclusion
-----------------
An entertaining entry into ...
