Chick Flick? Yeah but not a bad one.
Review of Bridget Jones's Diary DVD by briangilmour

Advantages: It's funny and very well written.
Disadvantages: Most guys may boke at the thought of watching it.

Ok, as a guy I realise this film is a total chick-flick however, as chick-flicks go, it isn't that bad at all. Based on a novel written by Helen Fielding, it tells the story of a woman in her 30's who has been branded permanently single as she tries to figure out what love is all about. Who hasn't been there?! From a complicated and confusing romance with her boss to all the womanizers and compulsive commitment freaks she meets, this is a humorous ...
...has the role of the unlucky in love Bridgette and she is co-starred by Colin Firth and Hugh Grant. I thought she took to the role very well especially adopted her normal southern American accent to a very good proper English one. Also notable is that Richard Curtis was part of the writing team so you can rely on a few good witty lines of dialogue that hark back to his days of writing Blackadder. For a guy to sit and watch it, it can be slightly cringe ... Read review

Double the Bridget, Double the Fun and Laughter!
Review of Bridget Jones's Diary / The Edge Of Reason (Box Set) by mummy2harry

Advantages: Great story, hilarious, VERY entertaining
Disadvantages: None I can think of

Bridget Jones was a mere fictional character reated by the author Helen Fielding until the year 2001 when she also came alive on our screens courtesy of Renee Zellweger. The first film version of the novel was a runaway success at the box office, and so followed the second film, based on the 2nd book Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. This one wasn't such a success but is still up there in my top ten films! Here goes the review of both films. Bridget ...
...to make the character of Bridget realistic. Her love interests are played by 2 of the best British actors of our time. Hugh Grant takes on his role as a cad, playing the dastardly womaniser Daniel Cleaver. Having only seen Hugh as the romantic male lead before, I absolutely loved him in this role, and I think he plays the villain superbly! Daniel and Bridget have a sexual banter between them, and Bridget is keen to make it more... The other love ... Read review

Advantages: casting, humour
Disadvantages: running time adn repeated jokes from a different director.

...continues from the last one, Bridget Jones’ Diary. However after walking away in the first film with her love of her life, she finds herself in the second film already finding her relationship with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth) uncomfortable. She now believes that maybe she doesn’t belong in his world, as she has to cope with his new boss, the worst vacation of her life, and discovering that he is a Conservative voter. Bridget Jones (Renee Zellweger) ...
...scene to try and win Bridget back. If you watched the first film and thought they were going to live happily ever after! You were completely wrong. The film is completely fantastic, and I would advise every girl to watch this and you can relate to everything about Bridget. The films has a lot of very mad moments like eating magic mushrooms and locked away in jail for a crime she didn’t commit. Will Mark Darcy save the day? Or will she fall in love ... Read review
