This film spins me right round - the wedding singer
Advantages: Funny and lighthearted , great characters Disadvantages: None
In my opinion The Wedding Singer is a fabulous feel good film. I first watched this film back in 1999 when I purchased it on VHS. It was one of my favourite films and more recently I purchased this on DVD so I could watch it again. The story of The Wedding Singer is based around two main characters. One of these is Robbie Hart who is the best wedding singer in town. He is happy, uplifting and always manages to save the day at weddings even when the ... ...Julia has just moved to the town to be closer to her fiancé Glen. She has got herself a job as a waitress with her cousin Holly at the hall where all the towns' weddings, birthdays etc get put on. This is the same hall where Robbie works. Julia and Robbie soon become friends but Robbie's good mood soon goes when his marriage to his fiancé Linda doesn't happen. Robbie turns from a happy go lucky guy into an angry and bitter man. This doesn't stop ...

You Wait Ages For a Review of a Marilyn Film...
Advantages: Unusual role for Marilyn Monroe, some great dialogue, moving Disadvantages: Rodeo scenes, you hate Bo at first!
Bus Stop is a film from 1956 starring Marilyn Monroe and Don Murray. This film lasts 96 minutes and was Marilyn's 29th movie. She had star billing in this one and plays quite a different role from what you might expect.
Cherie is rather a sad character in many ways. She has had to grow up quickly, has few friends and longs for a better life. She owns a map charting where she has come from and intends to go to Hollywood to become a star. Most of ... ...I used to watch Bus Stop a lot in the late 1980s. I went to University in 1988 and took my VCR and some of my favourite films, including this one. I used to think Don Murray was a bad actor in this, but in hindsight, I think he is actually acting very well here - it is the character that is annoying.
Bo starts off as an ignorant bully, but makes a journey throughout the film. He is advised by Virgil and learns from the people he meets, especially ...

Extremely Dodgy Spy Spoof
Advantages: David Niven is OK... Just Disadvantages: Ludicrous plot, bad performances
...and their grip on the Casino Royale... I think. There are also other characters called James Bond including one played by Peter Sellars and one by Woody Allen. You can probably tell from the brief and fairly confused synopsis that this is a fairly confused film that unfortunately is not mercifully brief. With a star-studded cast such as the one assembled here (add to these Orson Welles, William Holden, Ursula Andress, Deborah Kerr and Ronnie Corbett ... ...fails to be entertaining. One of the key problems is that it makes very little sense. The plot is incredibly confused and although perhaps not essential to such a film, you do need to have some understanding of what is going on. This was not helped by the fact that 5 directors were on board (including Huston). It also suffers from actually not being very funny too despite the roster of 'comic' actors. Niven probably fairs the best as the aging Bond ...

The Times They Are A-Changin'... Back
Advantages: many Disadvantages: few
...it’s a ghetto drug.”
Bob Roberts is a senatorial candidate with a mission. He’s adopted the rebel persona but he’s a rebel conservative, a staunchly right-wing figure whose agenda is to obliterate wishy-washy liberal thinking, hang the drug dealers, champion self-interest and cast aside pathetic state hand-out scroungers… and he’s going to do it all with the aid of his guitar…
Back in 1992, with the support of Working Title, a British company, ... ...of ultra-conservative folk-singing senatorial hopeful Bob Roberts. The concept of the film is simple; documentary maker Terry Manchester (Brian Murray) follows Bob on the campaign trail, closely minded by Lukas Hart III (Alan Rickman), the Roberts campaign manager, a shadowy character with an even more murky past. In a piece of inspired casting, Roberts opponent, the incumbent senator, Brickley Paiste, is played by Gore Vidal, in a weary, all-too-human ...
