Advantages: Full Of Christmassy Fun For Kids

Definitely UPlifting

Advantages: More Pixar magic that doesn't disappoint
Disadvantages: Elements of realism detract from the escapist atmosphere

...be honest the trailers for up and coming 3D films had far more memorable in-your-face 3D effects than “Up” did (eg. a snowflake appearing to float in front of the screen). In keeping with the Pixar tradition, there is a short film before “Up” called “Partly Cloudy” showing the relationship between a long-suffering, loyal stork and his oddball cloud companion. Home Alone with burglars at the door? Oh noes!!!

Advantages: Funny, heart melting, appealing to young kids as well as adults
Disadvantages: Some scenes may frighten children

A Charming Yarn

Advantages: Enjoyable gentle comedy
Disadvantages: Weak script
