Extremely Dodgy Spy Spoof
Advantages: David Niven is OK... Just Disadvantages: Ludicrous plot, bad performances
...and their grip on the Casino Royale... I think. There are also other characters called James Bond including one played by Peter Sellars and one by Woody Allen. You can probably tell from the brief and fairly confused synopsis that this is a fairly confused film that unfortunately is not mercifully brief. With a star-studded cast such as the one assembled here (add to these Orson Welles, William Holden, Ursula Andress, Deborah Kerr and Ronnie Corbett ... ...fails to be entertaining. One of the key problems is that it makes very little sense. The plot is incredibly confused and although perhaps not essential to such a film, you do need to have some understanding of what is going on. This was not helped by the fact that 5 directors were on board (including Huston). It also suffers from actually not being very funny too despite the roster of 'comic' actors. Niven probably fairs the best as the aging Bond ...

My Reasons For Purchasing The Commitments Film: This has to be one of the best Comedy-Dramas of 1991 in my opinion. The Commitments is a really great film and it is based on the novel written by Roddy Doyle. It was released on August the 14th 1991 in Ireland and in the UK. The Commitments runs for 118 minutes. It was directed by Alan Parker who also directed "Fame" and Pink Floyds "The Wall" This film was also produced by Lynda Myles and Roger ... ...of unexpected little pleasures along the way. Space lol The Commitments film is an infectious story about a group of unemployed young people from the north of Dublin in Ireland who start up a rhythm-and-blues band. It really has a very good storyline to it, with lots of great acting, funny scenes and has plenty of great songs performed throughout it also. I first watched this film as a teenager and I really was amazed by how similar some of ...

Feel good family of Freaks.
Advantages: Funny, and all round good comedy and acting. Disadvantages: none!
...believes she can win the Little Miss Sunshine beauty contest, 800 miles across the country. The film shows how even the most dysfunctional families can pull together when they need to. Steve Carell heightens the humour as a suicidal brother in law, living with the dysfunctional Hoover family. Foul Mouthed grandpa (Alan Kirkin) is a sex-obsessed drug addict, with a son – Richard (Greg Kinnear), who’s speeches to his children about winning are as interesting ... ...shown in the film) Also little girls reaching perfection, overshadowed by their parents own eagerness to succeed, is not the best way to start a young girls life; the early years of life is when our personalities develop. If young children are lead to believe their worth and value as human beings depend on their physical appearance, then this is likely to become their belief throughout their life. As much as the end is funny, it does seem to end ...

Bill Murray Shines
Advantages: Great performaces, entertaining set pieces Disadvantages: A few too many cultural stereotypes
This is a film directed by Sofia Coppola (daughter of Francis Ford). It is a story of a chance encounter between 2 people in a Tokyo hotel - Bob Harris (Bill Murray) and Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson). Charlotte is in Tokyo accompanying her photographer husband while he is there shooting as she has recently graduated from university and has some time on her hands. Bob is staying in the hotel on business. He is an aging movie star who is starring ... ...his day to day life at home. Bob is having something of a midlife crisis and sees Charlotte as an escape from it. This is a curious and intriguing tale of love and relationships adepicting the two growing closer together. Both performances are excellent but special note has to go to Bill Murray for certainly his finest later career comic turn, which was rewarded by an Oscar nomination. The only slight grumble would be that on occasion the film plays ...
