Extremely Dodgy Spy Spoof
Advantages: David Niven is OK... Just Disadvantages: Ludicrous plot, bad performances
...and their grip on the Casino Royale... I think. There are also other characters called James Bond including one played by Peter Sellars and one by Woody Allen. You can probably tell from the brief and fairly confused synopsis that this is a fairly confused film that unfortunately is not mercifully brief. With a star-studded cast such as the one assembled here (add to these Orson Welles, William Holden, Ursula Andress, Deborah Kerr and Ronnie Corbett ... ...fails to be entertaining. One of the key problems is that it makes very little sense. The plot is incredibly confused and although perhaps not essential to such a film, you do need to have some understanding of what is going on. This was not helped by the fact that 5 directors were on board (including Huston). It also suffers from actually not being very funny too despite the roster of 'comic' actors. Niven probably fairs the best as the aging Bond ...

Bill Murray Shines
Advantages: Great performaces, entertaining set pieces Disadvantages: A few too many cultural stereotypes
This is a film directed by Sofia Coppola (daughter of Francis Ford). It is a story of a chance encounter between 2 people in a Tokyo hotel - Bob Harris (Bill Murray) and Charlotte (Scarlett Johansson). Charlotte is in Tokyo accompanying her photographer husband while he is there shooting as she has recently graduated from university and has some time on her hands. Bob is staying in the hotel on business. He is an aging movie star who is starring ... ...his day to day life at home. Bob is having something of a midlife crisis and sees Charlotte as an escape from it. This is a curious and intriguing tale of love and relationships adepicting the two growing closer together. Both performances are excellent but special note has to go to Bill Murray for certainly his finest later career comic turn, which was rewarded by an Oscar nomination. The only slight grumble would be that on occasion the film plays ...

Weird and wacky film
Advantages: Enjoyable and entertaining Disadvantages: It can sometimes get a bit confusing
Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind is a weird film directed by directed by Michel Gondry. It was released at the cinema in 2004.
This film follows Joel Barish (Jim Carrey), who meets and falls in love with Clementine Kruczynski (Kate Winslet). Things go well, but then they discover that they both were lovers in the past, but after a big fight, In the past Clementine underwent a psychiatrist's experimental procedure and got her memories of Joel ... ...same procedure. However once the procedure starts Joel realises that he is not ready to erase his memories of Clementine and so his mind tries hiding parts of his memory to protect his time with Clementine.
This film is slightly confusing and you may struggle to work out what is going on at times. However, on repeated viewings it does become clearer. It is a different type of story about what lengths someone will go to, to preserve his memories. ...

Musical masterpiece
Advantages: Fantastic script and songs Disadvantages: none
...acting with brilliant music, but the Alan Parker film, The Commitments, released in 1991, manages to do just that.
The Commitments tells the story of a young man, Jimmy Rabbitte (Robert Arkins), who decides to put together a soul music band. Jimmy searches his hometown of Barrytown, in Dublin for band members and it is not long before The Commitments are ready to perform. The band are a motley collection of musicians, featuring a talented lead singer, ... ...Murphy), who is a womaniser. The rest of the band has similar issues which cause conflict within the band and threaten to split the band before they can achieve any success.
This is a wonderful film that has some fantastic music, such as the song "Mustang Sally". The script is written by Dick Clement, Ian La Frenais and Roddy Doyle, who deliver a excellent script, based on a novel by Roddy Doyle. The additional cast includes Colm Meaney, who appears ...

We Did not Get It
Advantages: erm............... Disadvantages: strange story, some bad acting, one big ego trip
...for just 15 minutes before being thrown out. He talks to Maxine about it and they think this would be a brilliant money maker. Soon Craig is telling his wife and she too wants to experience this but things don’t turn out as expected as she fells complete when she is a man and decides that she is actually trapped in the wrong body. Cameron Diaz was a crazy character who was obsessed with her animals. The marital home was full of them and she was trying to sort the psychiatric problems with her monkey out. I did find the addition fop the animals was slightly out of place and did not fit in with the film but at least it gave some indication as to the metal state of Craig and his wife. The role of Maxine was a confusing ...
