Good films, good price
Advantages: A good Comdey Disadvantages: Can seem to last a bit to long
When I thought of the Pink Panther, I did not actually think of these films, I honestly thought of the little cartoon based on the films which are also featured in this DVD boxset, the films themselves are classics and are decent in their own right. The first 2 films in the set are the best of the lot, while the rest of them just seem to be a bit long winded and they start to loose a bit of the apeal.
They are still a great comedy to watch and I ... ...with a bit of time between them otherwise you can get a bit bored.
I was deffinatly glad that it included the wonderful cartoons that I remembered from my childhood, they were as brillent as I remebered and I probably would have bought a DVD with just them on. ...

A Surgeon's view of Hell!
Advantages: Superb characterisation and many poignantn moments Disadvantages: The general subject won't be to everyones taste
M*A*S*H (Mobile Army Surgical hospital) was a television series that ran for eleven seasons between 1973 and 1983. The series was set in the Korean War and based around the oddball characters that served in the 4077th MASH. The series itself fits into the category of black comedy set in the Korean War. It is probably the best place here to mention that this series does not insinuate ever that war or the situations is causes is a funny thing or that ... ...simply highlights how in the toughest of situations it is often the humour of those that remain that prevails the longest. Sort of along the ‘they can crush us but they’ll never crush our spirit’ lines. Therefore the series does not shy from making some statements about war even if they are made in a comedic way but is careful to place just the right amount of emphasis on sensitive issues without becoming bogged down with them. None of the episodes ...

Nostalgia on the busses!
Advantages: Great british comedy Disadvantages: An aquired taste !
...us part, or the carry on movies then this is certainly a box set for you as it will have you in stitches! The only thing I would say is that I would advise anyone buying this to watch the original series, as there are many jokes throughout these films which are references to recurring jokes from the television series, which make the viewing all the more amusing! ...

Golden Years Of British Comedy
Advantages: Wide audience appeal Disadvantages: None that I can see
Absolutely brilliant there are so many classic comedians such as Norman Wisdom and Tommy Cooper included in this DVD that you couldn't help but have a favourite. I laughed so hard that my sides hurt. Let face it everyone enjoys a good laugh and this DVD certainly doesn't disappoint. Those of you familiar with the many classic comedians appearing on this DVD can relive the past, where as those who are unfamiliar with these comedians can experience ... ...often refer to. This is definitely one for the festive season that young and old alike can enjoy. If any of your relations are difficult to buy for then this would have to be your first choice, they'll thank you for the experience and you can be sure they won't forget who bought laughter back into their lives. ...

'Love's like a butterfly…'??!
Advantages: Quite funny, interesting social commentary of the time Disadvantages: Wendy Craig's character quite annoying
...think it works better than Butterflies and, although it has got very silly recently, the original actors at least are all strong, whereas those in Butterflies just don’t seem to quite gel together. Unusually for a sitcom from this era, there are extras included on the DVD. There is an interview with Carla Lane, which I found really interesting – she now lives in the middle of nowhere and tends to keep away from people as far as she can – no more ... ...on the main actors’ filmographies and another one including production notes. The latter was quite interesting; for example, the theme tune is based on the original Dolly Parton one, but sung by Clare Torry, who is best known for her singing on the Pink Floyd album, The Dark Side of the Moon. Strangely, the extras are repeated on both the discs that make up the first series. In conclusion, I am not sure that I recommend this series, particularly ...
