Advantages: The Carry-on feeling remain all the way through

Carry On Matron had its first public screening in Studio One, London on 18th May 1972. A budget of only £220,256 and 6 weeks, the team had to get cracking. ...film… I have owned Carry On Matron on VHS for about 3-4 years, and now on DVD for only a few months. I feel that this is a very good film that should be seen by every one of all ages. Personally, I think that a separate section of Carry On films should have been made for all of the hospital visits. There is never more than 3 plots and sub-plots within each other during this film, which makes it very easy to follow than some of the Carry On films ... Read review

...this the third series of Auf Wiedersehen Pet. it all starts with Oz ( Jimmy Nail ) faking his own funeral to get the boys back together again for a job that he has in mind. The job involves taking down and reinstalling the Middlesborough Transport bridge in the middle of the nevada Desert. Barry ( Tim Spall ) is wonderful in his relationship with his russian wife Tatiana. Barry is a bit of a dimwit but has his heart in the right place but Tatiana ...
...for importing drugs into the country and head off to the desert to build the bridge for the Navaho indians because the casino that the navaho's have built is too far off the beaten track hence the bridge is needed to get traffic accross the gorge to the casino so the Navaho's can make a living. Advantages: Classic comedy.
Disadvantages: The last Laurel and Hardy film made at the Hal Roach Studio.

Each and every film Laurel and Hardy made (together) is a reason for their greatness. Each film, no matter how long or shot, displays a glimpse into their comedic talents as a double act. As Im sure many will know, the Laurel & Hardy films find Stan Laurel (the thin one) and Oliver Hardy (the larger of the pair) getting themselves into all sorts of trouble whilst portraying some superbly conceived, if not often far fetched, storylines. ...going in the world of Laurel & Hardy, but certainly obscure enough to give it an edge over some of the others. There are some great scenes, that fall into the "classic" group. Ollie's obvious hate for his horn testing job at the factory is superbly acted and their double act is at its best.
