Laurel & Hardy, Laughs above the rest.
Advantages: Funny, clean humour that stands the test of time. Disadvantages: Absolutely none!
...it where it belongs.
Laurel & Hardy despite their lack of the above mentioned "humour" have managed to do something that only modern comedians can dream about. They kept the world laughing consistently for years and have continued to do so 60 years after their deaths. I don't know any modern "great" that I'd remember and still be talking about in a year if he disappeared today. There is one exception and I just did a review on that yesterday, but ... ...a nice box with the Laurel & Hardy logo and a pic of the happy two on the top & sides. Opening the box you are presented with a row of real DVD disc boxes, not the usual cardboard or pocket type rubbish. Each disc spine has the part of a picture that makes up the duo's bowler hats when stacked together. The discs are numbered 1-21 with the last one having a title "A special tribute to the boys" along with other comedy shorts.
Please note that the ...

only fools and horses
Advantages: funny Disadvantages: none
Only fools and horses is by far one of the best comedys around it all started with the main character del boy/derek trotter (Davis jason)and his 1 and only plonker of a brother rodney trotter (nicholas lindhurst).
It all started in the nelson mandella house in peckham were delboy always wanted to be a millionair but could never make del boy and his plonker of a brother rodney work at the local market selling dodgey gear to helpless people but when ...

Vicar of Dibley, The Complete Collection
Advantages: Complete collection Disadvantages: still not so many episodes
...is the complete collection of Vicar of Dibley series. However it doesn't include Comic Relief 2007 special.
(By the way, for those who don't know - this year comic relief special was the last episode of Vicar of Dibley in history. They stop making specials from now on). We are going through it at the moment and it is really really funny and nice. Before buying it though, I thought there would be many more episodes than there actually is but it is ...

Black Books - a bit addictive
Advantages: Brilliant writing, surreal plots. Genius moments. Disadvantages: Tempting to watch the eps back to back until you're exhausted
Bernard Black is a very nasty man. He's rude, drunk, dirty and very very selfish. But ultimately endearing and attractive, in a byronic sort of way. Fortunately the other two characters are strong enough to offset him, turning what might have been episodes of smart-arsed posturing into a genuine ensemble piece. Fran (Tasmin Greig) is almost equally unpleasant but still possesses enough moral sense to act as Bernard's conscience. Manny (Bill Bailey) ... ...love these characters we can see why no-one else does, which makes the slightly claustrophic format work all the better. My personal opinion is that the first series, written by Dylan Moran with Graham LIneham, is the strongest of the three. An extra bonus is playing spot the celeb as this is quite an old programme and a number of today's 'stars' have tiny roles. Eg David Walliams is on screen for a matter of seconds. ...

A lot like Boredom
Advantages: Some romantic moments Disadvantages: No laughs
...Let me break it down a bit for you, perhaps its how when men go out in town they'll see women as numbers, usually on a scale of one to ten, and if I'm trying to give an example to the simple women readers amongst us.. well, I'm out of examples. Sorry. You see A Lot Like Love is a film I caught on television especially for the fact I know there's going to be someone out there interested in it, or either that or they'll just be interested in Ashton ... ...he is about to take a trip to New York (from LA) to see his deaf brother Graham (Tyrone Giordano). His brother has intentions of being a lawyer, and that in itself is worthy of a spinoff film but I guess that doesn't come under the title of romantic comedy. The film is full of extra characters you most likely won't take to, and that includes the boyfriend of Olly's love interest of the film. Olly sees Emily Friehl (Amanda Peet) arguing with her boyfriend, ...
