Review of Pretty Woman (15th Anniversary Special Edition) by
lesleyanne18
Advantages: Cast, Very Funny
Disadvantages: None
Pretty Woman
This is the story of a rich successful business man who hires a hooker to pretend to be his girlfriend for the week, as they endure numerous business dates with clients. Truly professional until they fall for each other..
Edward Lewis (gere) is a top business man, and he has come into the city for a week. On his journey he comes across Vivian, who gives him directions to a hotel. Vivian (Roberts) is a small time hooker, who hooks to ... ...and she made a very pretty hooker. Julia has the most beautiful smile; I think that's what makes her so amazing, her smile.
Her character went through so many different feelings throughout the film, and Julia perceived them so well.
Richard Gere played the top class businessman, he was brilliant, he had the luck, the charm and the acting skills to pull it off, he is a natural. He remained a professional businessman throughout the movie, and you ...

The Start of Something Big
Review of One Foot In The Grave - Series 1 - Complete Collection DVD by
jazzzza
Advantages: Hilarious! Touching, with very insightful dialogue and performances
Disadvantages: Not very P-C at times so not for the sensitive
The early episodes of OFITG are a good example of how funny OFITG has been to start to finish. The complete series 1 is an excellent way to start the story of Victor's retirement years, and then continue on to the rest of the series (6 in total). There is a full box set available which will save you a fair penny - I bought each individually as I was particularly impatient to be able to watch OFITG again. Looking back, the first series especially ... ...but this all adds to the cosy situational comedy, and of course part of the appeal is its relatability to middle aged ninties suburbia - quite potent issues are raised in the episodes, even in Series 1, like hooliganism (episode The Valley of Fear). This series is much more central to the couple and Mrs Warboys is not well established yet - nor is much said of the neighbours yet - this is all to come later.
The DVD contains:
EP1 Alive and Buried ...

Buckets of Laughs
Review of Keeping Up Appearances - Series 1 And 2 (Box Set) by
Tricia24
Advantages: 2 series of this classic Britcom
Disadvantages: Many of the episodes have been continously repeated on TV
Snobbery is an essentially English characteristic. As George Orwell noted during World War II: "England is the most class-ridden country under the sun... It is a land of snobbery and privilege, ruled largely by the old and silly". As a consequence British comedy has always been littered with snobs of all descriptions, my personal favourite being Margo Leadbetter in "The Good Life". But it was Hyacinth from the BBC's hit sitcom "Keeping Up Appearances" ... ...Up Appearances" ran for 5 series from 1990 to 1995 on the BBC attracting huge audiences. Even 15 years on from it's first appearance on our screens re-runs are still on TV and the show also has a loyal following in the States via BBC America. Written by comedy genius Roy Clarke, who also penned "Open All Hours" and "Last of the Summer Wine", "Keeping Up Appearances" show cased a perfect blend of slapstick humour, a magnificent lead actress and a ...

Review of City Slickers DVD by
rocketjones
Advantages: clean humour, back to the old days type of movie
Disadvantages: some people may miss the point unless they really get into the show
Nowadays people are just so busy and tied up in their day to day life that we are missing out and aren't happy any more. This movie is a prime example of that and how Billy Crystal's character gets out of that "rut". We are given an example of how most of our lives look, how unhappy, and unfulfilled we might be and what someone does to rectify that problem. A cattle round up is so far from what people even think about anymore but that is where Billy ... ...do. They meet great people and some not so great people and are taught, especially Billy the Kid that humour should not be at other's expense, even if that is how you try to deal with a situation. Billy is taught that there really is only one thing is life that is important and he must find out what that is to be happy, we all must find out what that one thing is to be happy. After lots and lots of great experiences and lessons "Billy the Kid" comes ...

Pretty Woman
Review of Pretty Woman (Wide Screen) by
lesleyanne18
Advantages: Julia Roberts, The storyline
Disadvantages: you Feel for the poor hooker at times
Pretty Woman
I am reviewing the DVD Pretty Woman Starring Richard Gere & Julia Roberts.
What do you get if you cross a top businessman with a hooker – This Movie…. Simple as that. Julia Roberts plays Vivian a street walker who is skint and just by chance one night picks up a gentlemen (Richard Gere) who is looking for directions, She hops in, gives him directions and of course he invites her up.
The two get on very well and he then hires her to ... ...great soundtrack with the song pretty woman and wild women do – the 2 main songs in the movie.
The dvd has 4 bonus feature:
Production Featurette
Wind Women Do music video
Directors Audio Commentary
Theatrical Trailer.
The film has a rating of 15 and has strong language, mild violence, mild sex / untidy.
I hope this review has been any help you you, Enjoy . ...
