Jacko - God's gift to women
Review of Brush Strokes DVD by sunmeilan

Advantages: One of my favourite comedies of the 1980s
Disadvantages: Sexist comments run riot!

...before I left home was Brush Strokes. There is nothing ground-breaking about this sitcom, it is just gentle pleasant humour that leaves you smiling at the end (unless you are strongly feminist, that is - in which case you'd be throwing things at the TV). So when I found a copy of the first two series on sale in my local WH Smiths, I couldn't resist a trip down memory lane. And what a trip it was. The producer Sydney Lotterby has been responsible ...
...of the Summer Wine, Butterflies, The Liver Birds, Porridge, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, Yes Minister and One Foot in the Grave. The theme music I rarely take any notice of the theme music to a programme, unless it is particularly good or bad. In this case, it is fabulous. Sung by Dexy's Midnight Runners (famous for Come on Eileen), Because of You is a beautiful song that I can't stop singing once I've got it into my head and meant a brief return to ... Read review

Del & Rodney + Royalty = Trouble
Review of Only Fools And Horses - A Royal Flush DVD by blondgem

Advantages: Classic Comedy
Disadvantages: -

I think Only Fools and Horses was in its prime during the mid to late 80's, when Uncle Albert (Buster Merrifield) was it. Don't get me wrong I thought they were great with grandad in, but I was a little young to remember these ones on the television, so I probably don't appreciate them as much. However the later episode with the reduced amount of characters were funny in there own way however somewhat different. A Royal Flush was first aired Christmas ...
...are not like the usual Only Fools cast, cockney common as much sort, but of the Royal kind. A Royal Flush see's Rodney befriend a young lady called Victoria who is an artist and is also selling on the same market as where Del and Rodney are selling the dodgy stuff from their famous suitcase. Although Rodney does not know who she is, he knows thats they are both from different walks of life however they have a lot in common. Its nice to see Rodney ... Read review

OFAH Series 5
Review of Only Fools And Horses - The Complete Series 5 DVD by SnowiestElf

Advantages: Hilariously funny, easy to watch, cheers you up
Disadvantages: Lack of extras on DVD

----------------------------------------------------------------- THE BASICS ----------------------------------------------------------------- Only fools and horses has always been one of the best comedy series ever. Ever since I was young, I always remember staying up to watch the antics of Del boy and Rodney on the television. OFAH The complete series 5, see's the Del witness a miracle, and the Trotters nearly moving to Australia. Only Fools ...
...up to. Every episode of Only Fools and Horses seems to get funnier and funnier, there is no doubt in my mind that I will be watching these episodes forever, and will also introduce them to my children (if I have any). It is one of those sitcoms that you just don't mind being repeated, over and over again. There is no better actor to play Del Boy, than David Jason, and most certainly no better actor to play Rodney than Nicholas Lyndhurst.Only Fools ... Read review
