Carry On To Ellsbells
Review of Carry On Abroad (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by IanPhillips

Advantages: Is one of the best Carry On's
Disadvantages: None as such

Carry On Abroad truly encapsulates the feel-good spirit that made the films such an enduring success. Nearly all of the teams favourite regulars are here as well as some extra additions to the cast line-up. The usual batch of players that are present and clearly on good form are Sid James, Joan Sims, Kenneth Williams, Peter Butterworth, Charles Hawtrey, Babara Windsor, Hattie Jaques, Kenneth Connor and Bernard Bresslaw and are joined by Scottish ...
...the best endings in a Carry On film, firmly holding onto that fine, feel-good spirit which would slowly dissolve from here on. The cast are all on usual form, though Peter Butterworth and Hattie Jaques are perharps the best players here. They make an almost Laurel and Hardy kind of duo and Jaques in particular is an unusual role, playing a Spanish, downtrodden and seemingly demented cook. The rest of the cast certainly get their moments including ... Read review

Review of Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Sex But Were Afraid To Ask DVD by judithritchie

Advantages: it is based on a real life book so you cant blame all of the perversion on Allen
Disadvantages: it may offend a few people and it isnt that funny

...based on a book called Everything You Wanted To Know About Sex by Dr David Reuben. When I first heard of the film I thought this most bizarre, basing a film for widespread cinematic viewing on a book written by a medical doctor that would probably not be read by the majority of its viewers, but I had assumed that the book would be written in a style that those without medical training could understand and may feature material appropriate to be made ...

Medical Madness With The Merry Carry On Gang
Review of Carry On Matron (Special Edition) (Wide Screen) by IanPhillips

Advantages: The cameo role of Joan Sims
Disadvantages: Charles Hawtrey given limited screen time

The medical Carry On films had always been a popular phenomenon within the long-running British comedy film series. Carry On Nurse (1959) had topped the U.S box office charts and ran in U.S cinemas for over and impressive two and a half years! Carry On Doctor (1967) was virtually an updated re-make of Carry On Nurse (1959) and this also became a huge box office hit. Carry On Again Doctor (1969) is my own personal favourite medical Carry On and yet ...
...be wearing thin with the Carry On's so producer Peter Rogers and director Gerald Thomas decided a return to the hospital, which had always proved a popular staple in the series, was what the series needed to give it an injection of life needed after the failure of the previous film, Carry On At Your Convienience (1971) (though At Your Convienience is now rightly regarded as a classic in the series it suffered dire box office returns on its original ... A Classic British Comedy!
Review of Love Thy Neighbour - Episode 1 And 2 DVD by markylocker

Advantages: Classic British comedy, no silly political correctness.
Disadvantages: None, if only series like these could still be aired today without people being insulted!

...no doubt be found as shocking
