The Original Flubber
Advantages: high quality script, stellar cast, great comedic timing Disadvantages: I would of preferred it uncropped and in black and white
...script and going cheap on the overall production values just because they have a "name" who can do said mugging for the camera and therefore grab some unwary punters in to waste their time and money on seeing the film. I have to admit this is one of the many reasons I regard going to the cinema as a luxury only to be enjoyed on rare occasion and after hearing lots about the film's overall quality first. I do rent a lot of DVDs though, and watch a ... ...such film. Firstly, it's from the Golden Age of Disney family comedies and secondly, features a high quality actor who, as far as I can tell, never appeared in a poorly written or produced film in his life. In fact, he not only was in several other films I have also enjoyed, but a long running TV series that myself and many other Americans grew up watching with great affection: My Three Sons. Fred MacMurray was also the comedian in the previous live ...

What a palaver
Advantages: Classic comedy, funny, silly and daft in parts, fun, family friendly Disadvantages: Dated at times and black and white
Carry On Regardless is one of the earlier Carry On films and as such is a black and white offering. Like them or loathe them the phrase Carry On has become part of our language, as well as plainly representing this series of farcical comedy films.
Carry On Regardless was released in 1961 and, to my mind, is Carry On at it's very best. I always thought that this film was the first but it is actually the fifth film out of the twenty nine made. The ... ...nicely in this film. The Carry on team are a group of unemployed men and women who are struggling to find work. Being unable to, they decide to team up and set up an agency called Helping Hands. This firm will supply the perfect person for most jobs, matching the temp with suitable work. Of course it all goes terribly wrong, especially when a muddle with the allocation cards sees the strangest matches with each job.

A Good Old Fashioned Romantic Comedy
Advantages: An entertaining enough way to spend a Sunday afternoon Disadvantages: Don't try to take the story too seriously!
Lover Come back is a satirical romantic comedy which was released in 1961 and starred Doris Day and Rock Hudson. PLOT Carol Templeton is an ad agency executive who believes in winning contracts through hard work and decent ethics. Rival ad exec Jerry Webster, on the other hand, has no such values and believes in winning over potential customers by wining and dining them and even organising wild parties with seductive women laid on. Carol decides ... ...RATING I’m giving Lover Come Back a strong 4 out of 5 stars. A good film to while away a Sunday afternoon and a must for Day and Hudson fans, I’d say this is a good old fashioned satirical romance which doesn’t require a whole lot of concentration or analysis to enjoy. TECHNICAL Starring: Doris Day, Rock Hudson, Tony Randall, Jack Kruschen, Edie Adams Director: Delbert Mann Producer: Robert Arthur Duration: 103 minutes Certification: ...

Come September_Romantic Comedy film
Advantages: Some hilarious jokes Disadvantages: Not for Children _ Because of few romantic scenes
One of the most hilarious and romantic films which I have ever watched is the "Come September".
This films is about a wealthy New York Businessman (Rock Hudson) called Robert Talbot who wants to meet his girl friend(Lollobrigidia)called Lisa ,on every September at Italian villa and to romance with her.
One day he comes uninformed and finds that his Sergent Major Dommo had turned his villa into a hotel and finds that a gaggle of American Girls had ... ...been pinning on them.
The group of American Boys were trying to knock down Talbot so they could enjoy with the girls alone which they could'nt do till the last time. The group of American Girls had a Chaperone who fell in love with the Sergent Major Dommo.
The climax is how the hero and heroine got united in marriage in the most hilarious manner.
There are a series of hilarious jokes followed by few romantic scenes in this film.
This film is ...

An Utter Waste of Money
Advantages: There's a halfway decent supporting cast here, and some good laughs. Disadvantages: Tim Meadows does NOT have the talent to do anything over a ten minute sketch. Bad acting, soundtrack, storyline, everything
...It's yet another movie from the Saturday Night Live studios, who haven't exactly been churning out quality movies lately. Or quality shows, for that matter.
Tim Meadows is Leon Phelps, a late-night, unintentionally foul-mouthed disc jockey with a lisp and essentially one joke: anything sexual.
From reading his poem over Chicago's airwaves, "Doin' It In The Butt," to presenting his demo tape to various producers, in which we're repeatedly treated ... ...his late-night radio job for the aforementioned poem among many other FCC violations, he and his producer must go in search of work.
But he has a good supporting cast. Billy Dee Williams plays the bartender-cum (no pun intended!)-narrator, whose narration is invariably taken as dialogue by the rest of the cast, who ask him, mystified, what he's talking about. Mark McKinney plays a religious radio station head who is indignant when he discovers the ...
