Let Me Tell You "About Last Night"
Advantages: lots of 80s nostalgia Disadvantages: somewhat cliched
About Last Night was pretty much based on David Mamet's stage play "Sexual Perversity in Chicago" which makes it sound pretty wild (it's not really)! Apparently they couldn't use the same title for the film due to the word "Perversity". It's a film worth watching if you like 80s movies with humor and lots of drama. PLOT TEASER
Danny (Lowe) and Debbie (Moore) meet in a bar one night, one thing leads to another and they have a one-night stand. ... ...have other ideas. Not happy about losing their pals to a full-time relationship (which could potentially lead to marriage God forbid…) they go out of their way to try to ensure that the 2 leads want to have fun and just stay single. Danny's inability to commit to the relationship causes all manner of problems for them, but I won't tell you any more about the plot… But I will say it's one of those "Will they? Won't they?" (stay together) kind of stories!

Britain's answer to Quentin Tarrantino does good
Advantages: dialogue Disadvantages: complex plot
...street-wise dialogue, and complex plots. Snatch is by far and away the best to come out of Ritchie's arsenal, and for all the right reasons:
1) The dialogue - the lads in my school quote this film all the time, which is a testament to the power of the dialogue. Witty one liners infused with swearing are par for the course, giving it an authentic and 'cool' vibe in much the same way Pulp Fiction worked for Tarrantino.
2) The plot - the plot is complex, ... ...but it all revolves around some sort of illegal activity, and anyone who loves their gangster films will enjoy it.
2) The stars- the big name on the film is Brad Pitt, who does a phenomenal job of acting as an Irish traveller, giving a complete transformation from his usual role. Also in there is the wooden, one dimensional Vinnie Jones, and the recently improved Jason Statham, who is currently taking over Hollywood. The acting is strong throughout, ...

A great comedian but not the best show
Advantages: Great comedian at the top of his game, lots of laughs, perfect delivery of jokes Disadvantages: A lot of material you have heard before, foul mouthed throughout
Frankie Boyle is a comedian who I have grown to like more and more through his appearances on Mock the Week and so I decided that getting a chance to see him having a full show of his own would be brilliant and so I got hold of this dvd and sat ready for the laughs.
So is this the best ever comedy experience from a comedian at the top of his game? Well you will laugh at the jokes and yes Frankie delivers his usual top quality gags with the perfect ... ...how methodical the show and Frankie himself is with him obviously having worked hard to get his show to a perfect delivery standard and just doing it over and over. The jokes are delivered in the same way with the same expression, the same timing and this leads to a slight feeling of disappointment.
I don't want to put off those fans of great comedy as Frankie is truly a great but prepare yourself for foul mouthed and abusive comedy from the potential ...
