Pulp Fiction - A soft moist shapeless mass of matter.

Advantages: Great storyline, acting and Soundtrack. Fantastic Dialogue
Disadvantages: Not for you if easily offended by swearing and violence.

Pulp Fiction A soft moist shapeless mass of matter. Introduction This is arguably Tarrantino's best film to date. Universally recognised as a ground breaking film, and recieved huge critical acclaim at the Cannes film festival winning the Golden Palm Award. The dialogue in this film will blow you way, Tarrantino has for me written and delivered probably the best dialogue in a film ever. The acting by Travolta and Jackson sent their ...
...killer performances! An excellent supporting cast and fantastic soundtrack. Sound like the perfect film! Synopsis The film depicts a typical day in the life of a hit man (men), Vincent Vega (John Travolta) and Jules Winnfield (Samuel L Jackson). The main story revolves around their dealings over a briefcase with Brett ( Frank Whaley), Marvin (Phil LaMarr), and a gangster Marsellus Wallace (Ving Rhames). Cleverly woven into the tales of violence ...

Brilliant work of Pulverized fabrication

Advantages: great story, albeit a little mixed up, fine acting, full of thrills and spills
Disadvantages: can be a bit nasty in parts for some

Director: Quentin Tarantino Producer: Lawrence Bender Writers: Quentin Tarantino and Roger Avary. Stars: John Travolta, Samuel L. Jackson, Uma Therman, Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Amanda Plummer, Maria de Medeiros, Bruce Willis, Ving Rhames and Christopher Walken Released in 1994 and a running time of 154 minutes. When I first about this movie many years ago I wasn’t surprised how confusing the plot sounded, especially after watching, and very ...
...I finally got round to watching this I knew I would have to concentrate somewhat to keep up with the story. It is one of them movie which is written in such a way that the beginning is the end, the end is the middle and the middle is somewhere near the beginning of the end. It is a mish mash of separate stories entwined into one great movie written by the very strange minded Tarantino, who seems to like to confuse the hell out of his audience. ...

Girls Like Me Don't Make Invitations Like This

Advantages: A fantastic Tarantino film, never a dull moment.
Disadvantages: Blink and you may just lose the plot.

Having long been a fan of Director Quentin Tarantino, it should come as no surprise that 'Pulp Fiction' is one of my favourite films of all time. 'Pulp Fiction' was the 1994 follow up to 'Reservoir Dogs', a film I first saw at a young age and fell in love with instantaneously. Much like the way in which the films of Tim Burton tend to have a magical feel about them, Tarantino has a similarly distinctive directorial style, one of which I myself am ...
...brought John Travolta success in the 90's and was just a general all round cracker of a film. I get excited about the films of few directors, however every time a new Tarantino film is released I am amongst the first to get down to the cinema and view it. 'Pulp Fiction' is a film which I can view time and time again without ever tiring of, one that I can never get enough of and always enjoy watching. If it weren't a Tarantino film then I feel that ...

The wedding of the year 'My Big Fat Greek Wedding'

Advantages: Fun, nice story
Disadvantages: Predictable

I first watched My Big Fat Greek Wedding a few years ago and although it hasn't become one of my favourite films, I do still watch it from time to time. The film first came out in 2002 so has been around for quite a while now. The story of the film is based around a character called Toula Portokalos (Christina Eleusiniotis). Toula is from a greek family, who take the traditions of their culture very seriously. Her family own a resteraunt called 'Dancing ...
...her thirties and yet has never really done anything with her life. She is plain and no-one really notices her as she goes around her everyday life. One day Toula decides to do something about her life and signs up to a college course. It isn't easy for her to persuade her Father Gus (Michael Constantine), but her Mother Maria (Lainie Kazan) manages to help her. Once she has started the course she starts to feel more confident in herself and decides ...

Offender of the Universe

Advantages: sick slick rapid succession of one line jokes
Disadvantages: turns the air blue, plenty of bad language, not for the easily offended

Jimmy Carr is the Marmite of Comedy, you either love him or hate him, there’s not really much in between. On the UK comedy scene for the past 10 years, he has become more and more known over the past few years, in particular as host of comedy quiz ‘8 out of 10 cats’ and voice of many a Channel 4 ‘Top 100 shows’. Carr himself was voted number 12 in the ‘Top 100 Comedians’. Personally I love Jimmy Carr. Then again, I love a lot of the modern comedians, ...
...over the past decade. Jimmy Carr Telling Jokes is his latest DVD release. There are four previous releases of his stage show, all recorded at the Bloomsbury Theatre in London over time from 2005 until this year. One of Jimmy Carr’s previous DVDs opens with a warning: “This show is not for the easily offended, this is not even for those difficult to offend, this show is for people without moral compass.” Not only is this true for the DVD is was on, ...
