Review of Bridget Jones's Diary DVD by Amanda2114

Advantages: cheesy, quirky, light-hearted, funny, divine
Disadvantages: No third film

Bridget Jones Diary is a story based around an average, single woman struggling with age, weight, employment, single-dom, parents and everything else that stress woman out. At New Year (the beginning of the film) Bridget decides to take control of her life in the form of a diary, this diary will be a frank and completely truthful account of her life. Along the way we meet her charming, pig of a boss Daniel Cleaver, who while fun for a short time ...
...Renée Zellweger - Bridget Jones (Jerry Maguire, Miss Potter, Chicago, Cold Mountain, Down With Love) Our heroin, brilliant portrayed by this American Actress. When it was first leaked that Renee would playing the UK's favourite fictitious heroine in the movie remake of Helen Fielding's brilliant book, the audience (and I) were not convinced this was what we imagined for this character. However, Renee does a superb job as this lovable idiot. Just ... Read review

Double the Bridget, Double the Fun and Laughter!
Review of Bridget Jones's Diary / The Edge Of Reason (Box Set) by mummy2harry

Advantages: Great story, hilarious, VERY entertaining
Disadvantages: None I can think of

Bridget Jones was a mere fictional character reated by the author Helen Fielding until the year 2001 when she also came alive on our screens courtesy of Renee Zellweger. The first film version of the novel was a runaway success at the box office, and so followed the second film, based on the 2nd book Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason. This one wasn't such a success but is still up there in my top ten films! Here goes the review of both films. Bridget ...
...to make the character of Bridget realistic. Her love interests are played by 2 of the best British actors of our time. Hugh Grant takes on his role as a cad, playing the dastardly womaniser Daniel Cleaver. Having only seen Hugh as the romantic male lead before, I absolutely loved him in this role, and I think he plays the villain superbly! Daniel and Bridget have a sexual banter between them, and Bridget is keen to make it more... The other love ... Read review

Bridget is back!!
Review of Bridget Jones - The Edge Of Reason DVD by Spottydog11

Advantages: Funny and good characters
Disadvantages: Not as good as the first movie!

Bridget is back!!! Yes, Bridget Jones is back in the second installment from her diary, entitled The Edge of Reason. This film also follows the book of the same name, written by Helen Fielding. The film came out in 2004. At the end of the last film, Bridget Jones diary, Bridget finally has a boyfriend and is very happy with Mark Darcy, played by Colin Firth but can it last? The film is described as this: "Not that Bridget's counting, but it's ...
...be a reformed man, can Bridget find a way to make true love last forever?" This movie in my opinion is not as good as the first one. I'm not sure why not really, I don't think the story is as good as the first one but it might be because the first one was so new and different that it was hard to follow up with an even better story. I felt the same way about the book too so maybe it was just the story because the actors were still just as great. ... Read review

Bridget is a British Classic
Review of Bridget Jones's Diary DVD by Spottydog11

Advantages: Funny, charming, heartwarming, can relate
Disadvantages: None

...with the book, is that Bridget always reminds me of me a few years ago. What crazy, unloved and desperate you say?! No, because I was in my early 20's when I read/saw this movie but I think just about every women can relate in some way or at some point to what Bridget has been through, a bad date, feeling like you're never going to meet someone, unrequited love so it makes it all that more real to us. Like I said Bridget Jones's Diary was first ...
...in 2001. Bridget is played, extremely well, in my opinion by the lovely Renee Zellweger. There were some bad thoughts about her being cast at first as she is American and Bridget is most definitely an English lass but she pulls off the English accent very well and in my opinion was the perfect person to play this role. (She has gone on to play Beatrix Potter as well so proof she can do English accents). She even gained weight to play the character ... Read review
