The Royle Family
Review of The Royle Family - Series 1-3 - Complete Collection (Box Set) by blissman70

Advantages: Side splitting fun with some good one liners
Disadvantages: Not enough series

The Royle family was one of the best sit-coms that came from the BBC. Written by Caroline Aherne and Craig Cash the show soon became a popular 'not to be missed' programme. The theme tune, 'Half the world away' written and sung by Manchester band Oasis. It was such a simple setting for the sitcom but it worked so well with so little surroundings. The Royle Family started in 1998 with the minimum of cast member. Written by Caroline Aherne, (Denise ...
...idea revolved around the Royle family, a bunch of misfits living in a Manchester council house. Jim Royle, (Ricky Tomlinson) is the father who is permanently attached to his chair with the television remote glued to his hand, a work shy individual who believes that the world owes him everything. Then there's his wife, Barbara (Sue Johnston) who runs around after Jim, cleaning and cooking, dealing with his every whim. Then we were introduced to ... Read review

It's Official Sex Is Fashionable Again
Review of Gettin' It DVD by sghawken

Advantages: The return of the sex comedy
Disadvantages: Very low budget

If your one of those people that won't watch anything other than big blockbuster movies then Gettin It is certainly not for you, however if you're a bit more open minded, enjoyed the humour of American Pie, Porky's or The Lemon Popsicle movies then this 2006 sex comedy is a must. Gettin it is low budget, filmed with handheld cameras, and looks decidedly cheap. But what Gettin It marks isa resurgence of the sex comedy so popular during the 70's and ...
...be seeing a lot more like it. Silver is a normal kid, he works in his mum and dad's takeaway pizza joint as a delivery boy; he is nothing special and quite withdrawn. Slightly unbelievably this rather nerdy kid has a stunning girlfriend called Sheila who wants to wait for the time to be right to have sex; I'll leave you to decide which part I find unbelievable. Silver however wants sex more than anything, after all his friends are all having sex, ... Read review

Top class movie
Review of Office Space DVD by Cosmo_Kramer

Advantages: Great humour
Disadvantages: Might not appeal to you if you havent worked in an office

Office Space is an instant classic for any office workers out there. Office Space follows the life of Peter (Ron Livingstone) a tired and bored office employee working for Initech, under control of the worst boss known to man, Bill Lumbergh (fantastically played by Gary Cole). Lumbergh is everyone who has ever worked in a office's worst nightmare. Full of smarm and fake sincerity. His 'mkay' will haunt your dreams for years to come. The main story ...
...The main backbone of Office Space is the relationship between the 3 main 'heroes' of Office Space, Peter, and his friends Michael Bolton (a put upon David Herman) who goes mental at the slightest comparison between himself and the real michael bolton, and also Samir who is constantly frustrated that no one can say his second name. The movie basically covers what it's like to work in an office on a day to day basis and will appeal to anyone who is ... Read review

Wedding Daze
Review of Wedding Daze DVD by angel01laura

Advantages: Couple of laugh out loud moments
Disadvantages: unbelievable

This film is an average, light hearted warm comedy with some really funny moments. i wouldnt say its the funniest film i have ever seen, but it is good and the storyline is quite funny. The acting is good, Isla Fisher and Jason Biggs provided a good performance but the characters were not believabke and there could have been funnier moments. Biggs character decides to propose to his girlfriend in a cupids outfit (one of the funny moments), but fails ...
...has a heart attack in the restaurant and dies. Sinking into depression, Biggs leads a lonely life until a friend tells him about a year later to get back out onto the dating scene. Failing to think he could ever find another woman as 'perfect' as his deceased girlfriend, he takes up a new plan of finding a new girl. When in arestaurant with his friend, he proposes to the pretty waitress (Isla Fisher) spontaneously, and to his amazement, she accepts, ... Read review
