Advantages: Cheap, adequate and not badly located for Gatwick Airport. Disadvantages: Spoilt by the sports bar. All-in-all, it's just nothing special!
Prior to our recent trip to Prague, in the Czech Republic, we decided to stay at an hotel near London's Gatwick Airport overnight in order to facilitate an early check-in. You get into travel mode, you lose anxieties and you don't spend a lot if you use Priceline. Which is what we did.
Searches for a four star hotel proved fruitless. I secretly hoped to net the Hilton (Gatwick South Terminal) or the Sofitel (aka former Le Meridien) at the North Terminal. I lowered my sights to three stars, and was given, in the way that only Priceline can, the Copthorne Effingham Park for UKP 40. A great price. Further research proved that this was, in fact, officially a 4-star hotel. A result. Having actually stayed there, however, I'd have to say that Priceline were probably the more accurate in the ratings game, and I'll go along with them in that ...
Advantages: reliable, very upgradable, fast and very over-clockable. Disadvantages: no HT support, only USB 1.1, did anybody get built in LAN?
.1 Platinum. Since I've never used the built in one, I can't comment on it. Generally though they are not up to the standard of the high end Creative cards.
I installed 2x 200gig IBM 7200rpm deskstars on the primary standard ide, and a dvd writer and cd writer on the secondary standard ide. On the Highpoint I installed 4x 200gig IBM 7200rpm desktars (primary ide master+slave and secondary ide master+slave). I use them as extra drives only, not as RAID. This is because if you upgrade the highpoint BIOS it can sometimes break the RAID stripe. I didn't want to risk that. This board supports ATA100 max. ATA133 drives work fine, but you will only get ATA100 transfer speeds through the bus.
This board started life with a socket 478 Pentium4 Williamette processor at 1.5GHz. This lasted me for a while, and ran happily when clocked with a 110fsb x4 ...
Advantages: Pleasant smell Disadvantages: Does not kill flies in seconds; often not at all.
I am very disappointed with Johnson Raid Fly & Wasp Killer. It is quite useless at getting rid of house flies in my area. Far from killing flying insects in seconds, you have to spray very long bursts at individual flies to have any effect on them. Then they often just get up again! The scent is nice. Have the makers put air freshener in the aerosols by mistake?
In the area where I live, it has been reported and acknowledged by the council that there have been an unusually high number of flies this summer. My environment is clean and waste disposal and recycling services are efficient. This particular brand of fly spray seems to be the only one available in local stores and supermarkets that I frequent. Is it the case that for health and safety reasons the power and effectiveness of products like this has been drastically curtailed ...
